The upcoming Weak Hero Class 2 is currently in discussion to be released through the global OTT platform. Netflix.
On December 1, media outlets reported that the sequel of Weak Hero Class 1 will no longer premiere on its original OTT platform wavve. Instead, it will be moved to Netflix. It was also reported that the script reading for the sequel of the hit K-drama will be held today.
A representative of Netflix shared their side regarding the ongoing reports. According to Netflix, "Yes it's true that we are discussing Weak Hero Class 2 internally but nothing is confirmed yet. We cannot share a confirmation for now."
According to reports, Weak Hero Class 2 is being considered to be released on Netflix due to the management issue with wavve. The production team of the K-drama then considers moving to another OTT platform.
Weak Hero Class 2 will tell the story of Yeon Si Eun's journey as he transfers to a new school. The story of the K-drama will still be adapted from the webtoon of the same name written by SeoPass and illustrated by Kim Jin Seok.
Weak Hero Class 1 was led by Park Ji Hoon, Choi Hyun Wook, and Hong Kyung. There is no confirmation yet if the three will all return to the sequel. Meanwhile, actor Ryeoun will reportedly be part of Weak Hero Class 2.
The first season premiered in 2022 and it easily became a hit in Korea. Aside from the K-drama being popular, it also received several awards. Many are already anticipating the sequel of Weak Hero Class 1.
According to reports, Weak Hero Class 2 will start its production in the second half of 2023. The K-drama will continue to have 8 episodes just like in the first season.
