Actress Bae Jong Ok is joining the cast of the upcoming MBC novel-based K-drama Black Out.
On July 5, Bae Jong Ok's agency J Wide Company confirmed that the next K-drama project of the actress would be Black Out.
This will be her second K-drama for 2024. Just recently, the actress starred in the KBS K-drama Dare to Love Me with Kim Myung Soo, Lee Yoo Young, Sun Woo Jae Duk, Park Eun Seok, and Joe In. Only one month after this K-drama concluded, Bae Jong Ok will star in another series.
Aside from this, Bae Jong Ok is also expected to join the upcoming women-centered K-drama Jeong Nyeon. She will work alongside Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, Ra Mi Ran, Jung Eun Chae, Kim Yoon Hye, Woo Da Vi, and more.
Bae Jong Ok has starred in various K-dramas such as Longing for You, Secret Royal Inspector & Joy, Mr. Queen, Live, That Winter, the Wind Blows, The World That They Live In, and more.
Black Out will be led by Byun Yo Han, Go Jun, Go Bo Gyeol, Kim Bo Ra, and Kwon Hae Hyo.
The upcoming K-drama is the collaboration work of directors Byun Young Joo and Lee Kyoo Man, and scriptwriter Seo Joo Yeon.
The series will revolve around a young man who got accused of being a murderer after going on a trip. He was sent to prison and after 11 years, he was released and returned to his hometown to find out what happened. The story will be depicted from the novel Snow White Must Die by Nele Neuhaus.
Bae Jong Ok will portray the role of Ye Young Sil. She is a smart and upright member of the National Assembly. Although she was born into a wealthy family, she is ambitious and not satisfied with the present and will do anything to reach a higher summit.
Black Out is set to air its first episode on August 16 at 9:50 PM KST. The K-drama will have a total of 14 episodes and it will exclusively premiere on MBC.
