"Crash Landing On You" to be remade into a musical!

Hit 2019 tvN drama "Crash Landing On You" will be turned into a musical. 

On March 29, production company Pop Music announced that the drama starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin titled "Crash Landing On You" will be remade into a musical in 2022. 

They also released a teaser poster for the musical, featuring the piano located in the village of Iseltwald at the southern shores of Lake Brienz, Switzerland. This is the location where Ri Jung Hyuk played the song he made for his brother. 

"Crash Landing On You" showcases the journey of South Korean heiress Yoon Se Ri who accidentally lands in North Korea. She will then encounter and fall in love with North Korean army officer Ri Jung Hyuk. 

The drama broke records for garnering the highest rating in tvN's drama history. "Crash Landing On You" achieved an average of 21.7 percent and a maximum of 24.1 percent in the final episode that aired on Feb. 16, 2020. They beat the 2016 hit drama "Reply 1988" on the top spot for tvN's highest ratings. The drama is also a worldwide hit as it was released on Netflix. It even started the fourth Korean Wave (hallyu) boom in Japan.

"Crash Landing On You" drama is the collaboration work of director Lee Jeong Hyo and writer Park Ji Eun. Cast includes Hyun Bin, Son Ye Jin, Seo Ji Hye, Kim Jung Hyun, Oh Man Suk, Yang Kyung Won, Lee Shin Young, and more. 

Production company Pop Music and T2N Media have completed the global copyright contract with Studio Dragon and the musical will start in Seoul mid-2022. They are also recruiting staff for the musical and will eventually start to look for the cast.
