Han Seok Kyu in Talks to Lead a New K-drama by "The Red Sleeve" Director

Han Seok Kyu will reportedly star in the upcoming MBC K-drama The Intimate Traitor.

On November 16, various media outlets claimed that Han Seok Kyu was already confirmed to lead the upcoming psychological thriller K-drama The Intimate Traitor.

Han Seok Kyu's representative clarified the reports and shared their official statement. According to them, "Han Seok Kyu did receive the offer to lead the upcoming MBC K-drama. We have to clarify that he is not confirming yet and he is currently positively reviewing the proposal. Nothing has been decided yet."

The Intimate Traitor will depict the dilemma Korea's top profiler experiences when he realizes his daughter's secret and connection to murder crimes. 

The upcoming K-drama will be directed by Song Yeon Hwa (The Red Sleeve and Hunted) and writer Han A Young who took the excellence prize in the 2021 MBC drama script contest. 

According to reports, the upcoming series The Intimate Traitor will have a production cost of 14 billion Korean won (Approx. $10.8 million). The filming will reportedly begin in March next year and the airing of the K-drama will be on the second half of 2024.

If Han Seok Kyu officially joins The Intimate Traitor, this will be his grand comeback to MBC. He was last seen in MBC 29 years ago through the K-drama Hotel.

Aside from The Intimate Traitor, Han Seok Kyu will also lead the upcoming K-drama When the Day Breaks with Jung Yu Mi, Yeom Hye Ran, Kim Joon Han, Ryu Hye Young, and Lee Hee Joon.

This year, Han Seok Kyu made every Doldam fan happy after he and his squad returned to Dr. Romantic Season 3.
