Hwang Jung Eum is filing for a divorce for the second time.
On February 22, Hwang Jung Eum's agency Y1 Entertainment announced that Hwang Jung Eum had officially filed for a divorce. According to the agency, Hwang Jung Eum and her husband have decided to end their marriage after much consideration.
Here is the official statement of the agency:
"Hello, this is Y1 Entertainment, actress Hwang Jung Eum's representative.
After a lot of consideration, Hwang Jung Eum has concluded that it will be difficult to continue her marriage. She is currently processing her divorce.
We sincerely ask for your understanding that details such as the reason for divorce cannot be revealed because it is the private life of the couple.
We also ask that you refrain from spreading false rumors and reports that may affect the reputation of the actress and her children."
Hwang Jung Eum got married in 2016 to businessman and former professional golfer Lee Young Don. The two welcomed their first child in 2017. 2020 the couple filed for divorce but reunited during mediation in 2021. After a year, Hwang Jung Eum and her husband welcomed their second child.
Last year, Hwang Jung Eum led the K-drama The Escape of the Seven: War for Survival with Uhm Ki Joon, Lee Joon, Lee Yoo Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, and Yoon Jong Hoon.
The actress is expected to return to the new season The Resurrection of the Seven which will premiere this year.
Hwang Jung Eum is known for leading the K-dramas Mystic Pop-Up Bar, She Was Pretty, Kill Me, Heal Me, Endless Love, Secret, The Incarnation of Money, Can You Hear My Heart, High Kick Through the Roof!, and more. She made her debut as a member of the K-pop girl group Sugar. In 2007, she started her career as an actress.
