Top actor Hyun Bin will possibly return to K-dramas after almost five years!
On February 16, media outlet iMBC Entertainment released an exclusive report stating that Hyun Bin will be the main lead for the upcoming K-drama Made In Korea (working title). According to reports, the upcoming K-drama will be the spin-off of the 2018 hit film The Drug King which was previously led by Song Kang Ho.
Hyun Bin's agency VAST Entertainment gave their official statement regarding the reports. The agency stated, "Hyun Bin received the offer to star in the new K-drama and he is positively considering it."
Made In Korea will showcase the series of events that happened in Korea's modern and contemporary history in the 1970s.
The upcoming K-drama will also be helmed by director Woo Min Ho who created the film The Drug King. It will be produced by Hive Media Corp,
Reports stated that Made In Korea will have a total budget of 48 billion Korean won (approximately $35,997,254). The K-drama is currently in discussion to be released through an online streaming platform. The production team is currently casting for other main leads and supporting roles. After finalizing the casting, the K-drama will potentially begin filming as early as this year.
If Hyun Bin confirms his casting, this will be his next project with director Woo Min Ho. The two also worked together on the upcoming movie Harbin.
If Hyun Bin decides to lead the upcoming series Made In Korea, this will be his grand comeback to the K-drama scene since the hit series Crash Landing on You with his wife Son Ye Jin.
This will also be his first K-drama project after getting married to the actress and also becoming a father.
Before Hyun Bin greets fans through a K-drama, the actor will first lead the upcoming film Harbin with Park Jeong Min, Jo Woo Jin, Jeon Yeo Been, Yoo Jae Myung, and Park Hoon.
Hyun Bin is known for leading the hit K-dramas Crash Landing on You, Secret Garden, The World That They Live In, My Lovely Sam Soon, and more.
