"If You Wish Upon Me" released a new poster starring Ji Chang Wook Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young and Sung Dong Il.
On July 19th KBS released a new poster for the upcoming series "If You Wish Upon Me." In the poster, the three main leads are seen showcasing their heartwarming smiles. A caption was also highlighted in the poster. It states, "At their last moments, they can shine." Signaling what the main leads will be doing to the people in a hospice.
"If You Wish Upon Me" is a healing drama that will revolve around a young man who had a hard time all his life. He then got assigned to volunteer at a hospice. There, he will do his best to fulfill the last wishes of the patients. The drama is inspired by a real Dutch foundation that fulfills the last wishes of terminally ill patients.
The drama is the latest work of director Kim Yong Wan ("The Cursed" and "Love Cells") and writer Jo Young Soo.
The series will be led by Ji Chang Wook, Choi Soo Young, Sung Dong Il, Won Ji An, Yang Hee Kyung, and Kil Hae Yeon.
"If You Wish Upon Me" will premiere on August 10th 9:50 PM KST. It will be part of KBS' Wednesday and Thursday drama timeslot.
Ji Chang Wook will play the role of Yoon Gyeo Re. He had a tough life while growing up. He lived in an orphanage and has also served in a juvenile detention center and prison. Because of some incidents, he became a volunteer at a hospice hospital. This will be the follow-up series of Ji Chang Wook after the Netflix original drama "The Sound of Magic" with Choi Sung Eun, Hwang In Youp, Oh So Hyun, Ji Hye Won, and Hong Jung Min.
Choi Soo Young on the other hand will play the role of Seo Yeon Joo, the hospital nurse at the hospice. She is the happy virus in the hospital. She always puts smiles on the faces of the patients. This will be the first drama of the idol-actress for 2022. She will also join the upcoming series "Send a Fan Letter" and "Namnam."
Lastly, Sung Dong Ill will play the role of Kang Tae Shik. He is the volunteer chief of Team Genie at the hospice hospital. He decided to volunteer after losing the meaning of life. He is passionate about volunteering in the hospital and he knows everything that's going around it. After being part of the heartwarming drama "Ghost Doctor," this will be the next project for the actor. Sung Dong Il is also set to join the upcoming dramas "Critical X," "Curtain Call," and "Late Night Photo Studio."
