Jung Eun Chae is confirmed to join the upcoming K-drama Jeong Nyeon.
On January 29, Jung Eun Chae's agency Project Hosoo announced that the actress would join Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, Ra Mi Ran, Moon So Ri, and Oh My Girl's Hyun Seung Hee.
The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Jung Ji In (The Red Sleeve) and writer Choi Hyo Bi (A Time Called You and Babysitter).
Jeong Nyeon will showcase the journey of Yoon Jeong Nyeon as she pursues her dream of becoming a big star and getting rich by entering the women’s traditional theater company. The story revolves around a Mokpo girl named Yoon Jeong Nyeon from the 1950s who was born with no money or education. The K-drama will base its story on a hit webtoon of the same name created by Seo Irae and Namon.
Jung Eun Chae will play the role of Moon Ok Kyung. She is part of the women’s traditional theater company. Moon Ok Kyung is known for always showing a poker face but she is also one of the best in the theater company to be the main lead.
Jeong Nyeon will exclusively premiere on tvN in 2024. It will have a total of 16 episodes.
This will be her comeback to acting after almost two years.
Jung Eun Chae was last seen in the 2022 Coupang Play original K-drama Anna together with miss A's Bae Suzy, Kim Joon Han, Park Ye Young, Heo Hyung Kyu, and Kang Shin Chul.
Aside from Jeong Nyeon, she will also star in the upcoming K-drama Your Honor with Kim Myung Min, Son Hyun Joo, and Yoon Chan Young.
Jung Eun Chae made her acting debut in the 2010 movie Haunters. Since then, she has starred in various K-dramas and films. She is known for being part of the works Pachinko, The King: Eternal Monarch, The Guest, Dr. Frost, The Great Battle, The King, The Fatal Encounter, and more.
