Kim Joo Ryoung is confirmed to join the upcoming youth romance K-drama Twinkling Watermelon.
It was officially confirmed on August 30th that Kim Joo Ryung will be added to the cast of the tvN K-drama Twinkling Watermelon.
This will be the second K-drama of Kim Joo Ryoung for 2023. She was last seen in the hit Disney+ series Big Bet Season 2 led by Choi Min Shik, Son Suk Ku, Lee Dong Hwi, Heo Sung Tae, and Kim Hong Pa.
Aside from Twinkling Watermelon, Kim Joo Ryoung is also set to star in the upcoming K-dramas Queen of Tears and High School Heroes.
Kim Joo Ryoung will also join the upcoming films Taste of Horror and Always Spring Garden.
The actress is widely known for being part of the K-dramas Big Bet, Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist, Squid Game, and more.
Twinkling Watermelon will tell the story of a model student by day and a guitarist in a band at night. One day, he visited a music store and began to time-travel to a strange place in the year 1995. He then met new people and formed a band there called "Watermelon Sugar."
The upcoming K-drama will be led by Ryeoun, Choi Hyun Wook, Seol In Ah, Shin Eun Soo, and Bong Jae Hyun.
Kim Joo Ryoung will play the role of Lim Ji Mi. She is a woman who has a great desire for success. She is skilled in speaking, coping in crisis, and acting to hide her duality. She is also the mother of Shin Eun Soo's character Cheong Ah.
The upcoming K-drama is the work of director Son Jung Hyun (Mental Coach Jegal and Should We Kiss First?) and writer Jin Soo Wan (Chicago Typewriter, Kill Me, Heal Me, and Moon Embracing the Sun).
Twinkling Watermelon will begin airing on September 25th at 8:50 PM KST.
