Iron Family confirms its cast lineup including Kim Jung Hyun, Choi Tae Joon, Yang Hye Ji, and Geum Sae Rok.
Iron Family is a black comedy that tells the story of Lee Da Rim (Geum Sae Rok), a daughter of a wealthy family that has been running the Cheongryeom Laundry for 3 generations, and Seo Kang Joo (Kim Jung Hyun), the son of the richest family in the Cheongryeom neighborhood.
Kim Jung Hyun portrays Seo Gang Ju, the son of Cheongryeom neighborhood's richest family and the managing director of Jisung Group.
Actress Geum Sae Rok plays Lee Da Rim, the youngest daughter of Cheongryeom Laundry, who, after a memorable encounter with Gang Ju just before his military enlistment, reunites with him after eight years.
Choi Tae Joon takes on the role of Cha Tae Woong, a part-time worker at Cheongryeom Laundry. Abandoned at birth and raised in an orphanage, Tae Woong grows up alone in the world. Because of his cheerful and affectionate demeanor, he is like family to the Cheongryeom Laundry family.
Yang Hye Ji plays Lee Cha Rim, the second daughter of the Cheongryeom Laundry family. She grew up hearing compliments like "Cheongnyeom-dong's beauty", but gets less of her mother's affection, who cares more for Da Rim.
However, Cha Rim turns this weakness into an opportunity to lead an independent life. Working as a designer at Jisung Group, she constantly clashes with her eccentric boss, Gang Ju.
Da Rim and Cha Rim are very close to each other but share a bittersweet relationship. Seeing the dynamics between the older sister, who always had to make concessions for her sick younger sibling, and the youngest sibling, who has felt guilty seeing the family sacrifice for her, is expected to evoke empathy from viewers.
Iron Family is set to premiere in September.
