Kim Sae Ron is under police investigation for driving under the influence of alcohol.
On May 18th, a representative from Gangnam Police Station shared that they received over six phone calls about a vehicle swerving all over the road. They also received a call from a citizen who was also passing by the scene and reported the happenings.
Right after that, police checked on the situation and they saw that a vehicle had crashed into roadside construction in Gangnam at around 8 AM KST. The police discovered that the driver of the vehicle was none other than the actress Kim Sae Ron. They acted within the usual procedure of checking for DUI and in doing so asked Kim Sae Ron to undergo a breathalyzer test. However, the actress wanted a blood test instead and they moved to a hospital.
The police then revealed that they will be working together with the National Forensic Service to verify the alcohol concentration in the actress' blood.
Kim Sae Ron's agency Gold Medalist shared their side. The agency stated that after conducting the blood test, Kim Sae Ron went straight home without any other investigation. She was also accompanied by her guardian. The result of the blood test is expected to be out in two weeks.
Meanwhile, a representative of the Netflix drama "Bloodhounds" shared their side regarding the actress' situation. According to them, the filming schedule and the release date of the series will be adjusted accordingly. Kim Sae Ron is one of the leads of the Netflix original series. The drama has already begun filming.
Aside from "Bloodhounds," Kim Sae Ron is also expected to star in the SBS drama "Trolley" with Kim Hyun Joo, Park Hee Soon, Kim Mu Yeol, Ryu Hyun Kyung, Ki Tae Young, and more. She will also be part of the film "Everyday, We."
If Kim Sae Ron is proven guilty of these DUI charges, she will most likely halt all her activities and go on hiatus to reflect, as this is the usual course of action whenever a Korean celebrity has broken the law.
