Kim Sang Joong is returning to the small screen in a new MBC K-drama.
On March 29, it was officially confirmed that Kim Sang Joong will be one of the leads of the upcoming MBC K-drama Flowers that Bloom at Night.
Kim Sang Joong will be working alongside Lee Ha Nee, Lee Jong Won, and Lee Ki Woo.
Flowers that Bloom at Night is a historical K-drama that will tell the story of the double life of a widow.
The upcoming series will be directed by Jang Tae Yoo (Lovers of the Red Sky, Hyena, and My Love from the Star) and Choi Jung In (On the Verge of Insanity).
Kim Sang Joon will play the role of Seok Ji Sung. He is the father-in-law of Lee Ha Nee's character Cho Yeo Hwa. He is also known as the face of the best family in Joseon. He is respected by the King and his people because of his great reputation. He is affectionate and generous to his daughter-in-law Cho Yeo Hwa.
Flowers that Bloom at Night is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2023. The K-drama will exclusively air on MBC.
According to reports, the production team of Flowers that Bloom at Night persuaded actor Kim Sang Joong to join the K-drama and return to the small screen. His character is unique that suits best with Kim Sang Joong.
This will be the comeback of Kim Sang Joong to the K-drama world after four years. He last starred in the 2019 K-drama The Banker.
