Lee Byung Hun expressed his position regarding the upcoming Squid Game Season 2.
On August 1st, Lee Byung Hun graced the media for an interview to promote his upcoming movie Concrete Utopia. In the interview, the actor was also asked about his much awaited K-drama Squid Game Season 2.
Lee Byung Hun reiterated that the foreign media's speculation about the upcoming story of the new season of Squid Game are not true. The top actor denied that the story will be centered around his character, the Front Man aka Hwang In Ho.
The actor shared, "I read some articles about it and none of them got it right." He also revealed that he hasn't began filming for the upcoming new season.
Lee Byung Hun also shared, "Director Hwang Dong Hyuk also didn't expect that Squid Game will be as big like this. I participated in the K-drama without expecting that there will be a season 2 from the beginning. What I noticed about the upcoming season is that our director Hwang Dong Hyuk is indeed a great storyteller. I was surprised that the second season will also be as interesting."
The top actor played the role of the Front Man in Squid Game. He is the one who faces the players and he is also controlling the games as well as the red-suited guards. It was also belatedly reveal in the story that Lee Byung Hun's character's name is Hwang In Ho and he was an ex-police.
Early this year, foreign media reported that Squid Game 2 will showcase the story of the Front Man and it will be centered around him. They also speculated that Lee Jung Jae's character Seong Gi Hoon will be able to dig deeper into the internal structure of the game as well as the identity of the Front Man.
Meanwhile, Squid Game Season 2 is set to premiere in 2024 and new additional casts have been announced such as Park Gyu Young, ZE:A's Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Won Ji An, BIGBANG's T.O.P, Lee Jin Wook, and more.
Before Lee Byung Hun star in the upcoming Netflix original K-drama, the top actor will first lead the soon to premiere movie Concrete Utopia with Park Seo Joon, Park Bo Young, Kim Sun Young, Park Ji Hu, and Kim Do Yoon.
Lee Byung Hun will also reportedly lead a new romance movie titled I Believe in a Thing Called Love.
