Lee Jong Won will be joining the upcoming MBC K-drama Flowers that Bloom at Night.
On February 23, it was officially confirmed that Lee Jong Won will be the male lead of the upcoming historical K-drama Flowers that Bloom at Night. He will be joining the confirmed female lead, Lee Ha Nee.
This will be the second upcoming K-drama of Lee Jong Won for the year. The actor will also join the upcoming series Bad-Memory Eraser with JYJ's Kim Jae Joong, Jin Se Yeon, Yang Hye Ji, Jang Eui Soo, and Kim Kwang Gyu.
The rising actor made his acting debut in 2018. He has starred in several K-dramas such as Go, Back Diary, How to Hate You, Issue Makers, XX, My Unfamiliar Family, The Spies Who Loved Me, Hospital Playlist Season 2, The Golden Spoon, and more.
Lee Jong Won is named one of the top rising stars in 2023 as stated by a leading newspaper. He is also praised for his great performance in the K-dramas that he starred in. Many are anticipating his follow-up projects and what he can show more as an artist.
Flowers that Bloom at Night will revolve around the life of a widow who lives a double life.
The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Jang Tae Yoo (Lovers of the Red Sky, Hyena, and My Love from the Star) and writer Lee Saem.
Lee Jong Won will play the role of Park Soo Hoo, an official at geumwiyoung (one of the five military camps in the Joseon Dynasty). He is known for being smart and great with martial arts. He will team up in solving the cases with widow Yeon Hwa, Lee Ha Nee's character.
Flowers that Bloom at Night will soon begin filming and it is scheduled to premiere in the second half of the year.
