Lee Sang Yi is confirmed for another drama project!
According to reports on June 3rd, Lee Sang Yi is confirmed to join the cast line-up of the new tvN drama "Hometown ChaChaCha." He will be playing the role of Ji Sung Hyun, a star producer in variety shows who's well known for his bright personality.
"Hometown ChaChaCha" will be based from the 2004 movie "Mr.Hong." It will be helmed by Yoo Je Won ("The King: Eternal Monarch" and "Hi Bye, Mama!" PD) and the script will be penned by Shin Ha Eun ("The Crowned Clown").
The upcoming series will narrate how dentist Yoon Hye Jin and the local legend Hong Doo Shik falls in love. Due to an unforeseen circumstance, Yoon Hye Jin will be forced to relocate to a seaside village called Gongjin. She then meets unemployed Mr. Hong (Hong Doo Shik), the friendly and helpful guy in the Gongjin village.
"Hometown ChaChaCha" consists of casts such as Kim Seon Ho, Shin Min Ah, Jo Han Chul, In Gyo Jin, Lee Bong Ryun, and more.
Lee Sang Yi is currently starring in the KBS drama "Youth of May" with Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si, Geum Sae Rok, and more. He is also participating in the MSG Wannabe project of variety show "How Do You Play?" wherein his brilliant singing skills were discovered. The actor will also join the upcoming movie "Single in Seoul" with Lee Dong Wook, Im Soo Jung, Esom, Lee Mi Do, Jang Hyun Sung, and more.
Lee Sang Yi was also part of the dramas "Once Again," "When the Camellia Blooms," "Special Labor Inspector Jo," "The Third Charm," "Prison Playbook," "Manhole," and more.
"Hometown ChaChaCha" will premiere on the second half of this year.
