Moon Geun Young is returning to the small screen.
On March 6, Moon Geun Young's agency Cree Company confirmed that the actress is returning to acting with the upcoming Netflix K-drama Hellbound Season 2.
Hellbound Season 2 will continue to reveal more about the supernatural phenomenon wherein mysterious beings come to the world unannounced and issue a decree and condemn individuals to hell.
The upcoming K-drama will be led by Kim Hyun Joo, Kim Sung Cheol, Kim Shin Rok, Yang Dong Geun, Yang Ik Jun, Lee Re, and more. Previously, Yoo Ah In was supposed to return to the K-drama but because of his illegal drug use issue, Kim Sung Cheol will replace him in the series.
The first season aired in 2021 and it easily became popular not only in Korea but also worldwide. It also ranked no.1 on Netflix's global rankings.
The upcoming second season will be directed by Yeon Sang Ho (Train to Busan and Jung_E) and writer Choi Gyu Seok.
Hellbound Season 2 is scheduled to air next year.
In the upcoming new season of Hellbound Season 2, Moon Geun Young will be making a special appearance. She will play the role of a teacher and also a leader of an organization.
Hellbound Season 2 will be her comeback to the K-drama scene after almost five years. Moon Geun Young last starred in the 2019 K-drama Catch the Ghost with Kim Seon Ho, Jung Eugene, Ki Do Hoon, Jo Jae Yoon, and Ahn Seung Gyun.
Moon Geun Young is known for being the main lead of the K-dramas The Village: Achiara's Secret, Goddess of Fire, Cheongdamdong Alice, Mary Stayed Out All Night, Cinderella's Sister, Autumn Tale, and the films Glass Garden, Innocent Steps, My Little Bride, A Tale of Two Sisters, and Lover's Concerto.
