SF9's Chani is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming drama "Umbrella."
On July 27th media outlet DongA shared that Chani will be working alongside Kim Hye Soo and Ok Ja Yeon in the upcoming historical comedy drama "Umbrella."
"Umbrella" will tell the story of the conflicts within the palace. It will showcase the journey of making the troublemaking princes into proper crown princes. The princes cause nothing but headaches for the royal family.
Chani got the offer to play the role of Ui Seong Gun, a clever man among common people. He has a dashing appearance with great martial arts skills. He is the son of a concubine but considers himself a noble because he inherited the blood of the king.
Many are already anticipating this drama because this will be the return of Kim Hye Soo to historical dramas after several years.
Other casts of the drama include Moon Sang Min, Choi Won Young, Seo Yi Sook, and Park Joon Myun.
"Umbrella" will be helmed by director Kim Hyung Shik and Park Bara. The series will reportedly air in the second half of the year.
The series will reportedly be part of the Saturday and Sunday drama timeslot. It will have 16 episodes with a 1-hour duration each.
Chani is currently starring in the JTBC drama "Miracle" together with Kang Min Ah, SF9's Hwiyoung, Oh So Hyun, Lucy, and Moon Ji Yong.
He also participated in the recent comeback of his K-Pop group SF9 titled "The Wave OF9."
Chani is one of the members of SF9 who's active both in his acting and singing career. He has starred in several dramas such as "Outsiders Love Prohibition," "Jinx," "Imitation," "True Beauty," "SKY Castle," "Signal," "The Queen's Classroom," and more.
