Veteran actress Kim Soo Mi, famous for her mother roles in K-dramas, has passed away at the age of 75.

Seoul Seocho Police announced today (October 25) that Kim was pronounced dead earlier this morning.

Kim was found in a state of cardiac arrest at her home and was transported to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, but ultimately, she was pronounced deceased.

Regarding this, her son Jeong Myung Ho stated, "The police, who investigated the cause of death, concluded that hyperglycemic shock was the cause." "Her diabetes levels exceeded 500."

Back in May, Kim had halted her activities due to fatigue and was admitted to Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

Kim was honored with awards such as the 1986 MBC Drama Award, the 2011 Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, and the 2015 KBS Entertainment Award for Excellence in the Variety Show category.
