So I've been going through a historical cdrama phase recently.
The theme that attracted me is the smart FL getting through it against all odds.
The thing that is wearing me down is the cold-hearted and abusive ML eventually coming around, "making up" for his misunderstandings and living happily with his victim the FL. And it's like the FL completely blends out the previous abuse.
I get the abuse to some degree given the historical setting, the low standing of women compared to men in the past. But I don't get the appeal. Why is it so popular? Is it a cultural thing?
Anyway, I just wanted to vent here a little and see how other cdrama viewers feel about it.
I will be taking a break from historical cdramas. :)
