[Discussion] Asian drama influences on our real life

I have started to bow a lot when thanking and greeting people. Not big bows thankfully, but still. Sometimes I only bow when greeting people, I don't even say anything. I don't think that's the norm for a girl in the country where I live, but I can't remember how I used to greet or thank people before I started watching dramas.

I also have problems with being or not being polite. Like when I talk to my boss at work I'm like "do I have to bow when I enter his office?". And I try to remember how to talk politely/use polite phrases. Which is not really possible in my language, at least not in the same way as in Korean and Japanese that have different levels of politeness that use different speech patterns. This is also the case when talking to old people.
When talking to people younger than me I often find myself talking very informally to them, just to switch to talking more formally to people older than me.

I also use some Korean and Japanese words/exclamations when talking to myself.

LOL! I've taken to saying OMO in place of Oh my god. The other day on FB I posted OMO! and my sister asked me, What is OMO? "Oh my Overies?" I laughed my arse off then explained that OMO just means OH MY! no initials for a word. ~ Needless to say OMO has not caught on in my circle. But I still say it.

Lol Do you do the motherly smack on the rear? XD It's funny how so many women do that in Kdramas, to guys that aren't necessarily related to them. :p They wouldn't be able to do that to strangers in the US lol

Lol hahaha it influences my life badly xD I go to sleep very latebecause I want to keep watching Dramas...MDL etc,then in every life situation I am always thinking... OMO that´s what happened in that Drama/Movie or I am grinning out of the nowhere because of an hirilous scene I just remembered..:And I always want to talk about my fave Dramas badly...and I am annoying others with it XD After MDL it got an little better...:) Or my friend is asking me if I ever heard of an situation like that or if I ever heard from that and in reflex I am saying:"Sure!In that Dramas scene where (....) and (....) were doing that or that ,you remember right??*talking like that for minutes before noticing my fault* Lol I always think the others are like me but it is quite the opposite ..... And I got beter at English(a lot of better!!) and I found my love for foreign languages too^^ But I lost my nerdy attitude from before after I have found my love for ASIA :p

I say them so she's picked it up. You know what is hilarious? Imagine a little girl sitting in her room with her Barbies. Like every girl in the world she has dressed Bab's (and her other friend 'Sparkle Hair Extension' Barbie) to the nine's and both Barbies are waiting to go out on a date with their anatomically incorrect Kens. A fake doorbell rings and the little girl fake walk/bounces the two Barbies to the imaginary door. Regular Barbie turns to Sparkle Hair Extension Barbie and says... "Palli! our dates are here!"

...and the Mom hiding around the corner watching cracks the hell up!!!
