"Well you're aware that English subs never are produced as quickly as let's say the Japanese captions/ Chinese Subs. And when I say that, I mean quality subs... as I know some English subbers can turn out subs quick, but the quality is pretty bad... As you might as well watch Chinese Subs over those.

And yes I know you're aware that fansubbing is a hobby and that to some it's just that and not a "Let's rush out subs asap" deal. Not to say that there aren't fast subbers that can turn out great English subs. Just saying that you shouldn't get spoiled to expect next day/week releases. Stuff happens, personal life takes priority over subbing {For some people}.

That's just the thing that "sucks" about fansubbing and the community. Because the community gets spoiled and forgets that there are some subbers that aren't able to keep up at a steady pace for the things they sub. But the community goes and ruins things by at times comparing said group/s to those that are able to turn out subs fast. Which is what I really really hate because then the community treats the fansubbers as the enemy when they don't get their subs on time.

And the easiest way to really get out of this habit although close to I'll say 98% of the community won't bother to learn the language so they don't need to rely on subs. And this is why I mention that the community is spoiled with fansubs. The translator/s for said subs had to learn the language {As most aren't native born / speakers} so it's... learnable. But the community generally won't learn it because they have the mentality of, "Well why learn it when there are/will be subs for it?" {On that same note is where they go, "I want my subs now!!!!"}

So all in all, got to remember... You're not paying for said fansubbing services {Although to some you are indirectly {Third-party hosting for downloads}} so you shouldn't feel that you need to have them NOW. In the end, the community needs to step back and have the following options:
- Learn the language
- Learn to be patient (This can be harder than learning the language, believe it or not)
- Just snag the alternative language subs (If you understand them, this is primarily to those that know Chinese)
- Chillax, there's more to life than simply fansubs {Go play games, go out and hang out with friends, find another hobby, learn to fansub, read books, etc. There are billions of alternatives to help you wait till said subs are release}"

Wow! The my drama list community is so multilingual!
always english. even when i can find subtitles in my own language i prefer to use english ones. maybe thats because polish subtiltles are often made by middle school students who can't speak polish well so, you know, they can't speak english well too. so it sound so awkward. and i'm not that fluent in english so even when there are mistakes i'm usally not able to see them ;d
Always English because it's the only language that I know. I'm learning Japanese but it'll take awhile before I'll be able to actually watch raws and understand it. But the thing about fansubs are that they are free people are doing us a favor by translating this and putting it online. Get a life so you wont sit around waiting for the fansubs drop if you were at work or doing something important you wont have time to wait for fansubbers they'd have translated several episodes before you even noticed. If it takes a month well maybe that fansubber got busy with having an actual life.
I use English or German subtitles, I have only found one in Norwegian (my mother thounge), but those were quite bad, I prefer English subs since that is the language I, at the moment, know best. :)[/B]
I always use English, I hate reading subs in my native language (Polish).
English, sometimes Espanol if I can't find English. :P
I know English and Russian language so I use English and Russian subs
I use the English subs or the Polish ones if they're available.
Always English. Subtitles are rarely available in my native language (Norwegian), and even if they were, I would still go for English subtitles.
English & Spanish & Czech (my native language:)) But I prefer English.
english only (my native is bosnian) A HUGE THANKS to all of you subbers
French and English !
