lol a old thread, i think the original question was regarding the actor/actress's appearance and not the drama itself. chinese, korean and japanese all have different focuses in terms of drama. Their culture is different so when it comes to drama the way they act are really different from one another. In terms of look wise, my korean friend once made a comment about how koreans are all about plastic surgery. According to her plastic surgery is big with koreans and it wouldnt be surprising if alot of koreans look perfect. I'm not sure about japanese culture wise but i believe chinese people look down on plastic.
^I can assure you that Japanese are not big on plastic surgery. They like natural beauty as if it that is a charm point to a flaw of a body, either it be crooked teeth or eyelids being baggy or something (a lot of comedians have these "flaws" too to add to appeal in terms of dorkyness). That being said, I prefer Japanese females then next Chinese (as I've seen a good number of Chinese movies now and wow) and Koreans next because I know not all of them do plastic surgery of course (but I haven't gotten much Korean exposure anyways). xD
i agree natural beauty is the best. I refuse to categorize plastic surgery as beautiful because it isnt their true face- basically they are just wearing masks all for the sake of vanity.
Korean, Japanese, (Taiwanese), Chinese.
Attractiveness is symmetry of the face but research has shown that an even bigger aspect to attractiveness is how familiar the face is. People are attracted to "average faces" so if you barely ever see a race they are not going to be in your brain's "average face" pool so they wont be seen as very attractive to you. So When you rank attractiveness like this you are just ranking what you are used to seeing. I still remember when i used to think that japanese faces were super unattractive and felt physical pain when looking at them. Now after 5 years of being exposed to japanese faces all the time i think they are really attractive and i enjoy looking at them the most. It makes sense, ive seen enough japanese for them to have alot of space in my brains average face pool. Sometimes i wish i wasnt exposed to so many japanese faces because now whenever i see an asian face i can see how attractive they are and now thats more people to be rejected by (-_-)

Like, "Look! An Asian person!", "Owwww..."?
For me it's 1) Koreans 2) Japanese 3) Chinese Koreans are number 1 because of Korean dramas and K-pop so I have more exposure to them. Also I think overall they are sexiest and cutest. Japanese is second because I'm Japanese and also because I like their voices more than their physical qualities. Some have really nice voices such Satoshi Tsumabuki, Fujigaya Taisuke, and Shun Oguri. Chinese because I grew up around them my whole life. Out of all the asians in school Chinese were dominant. Ironically I have more exposure to them physically

Dramas:
China
Korea
Japan
Taiwan
Hong Kong (for recent dramas only; if it is 1990s dramas, this would definitely be #1! Wuxia FTW)

Movies:
Hong Kong
China
Japan
Korea/Taiwan
Some people are being very biased but... for me it's Korean, Japanese, Chinese. Like @DiaNine said Koreans just have something different compared to Japanese. But they all have their differences which make them pretty much equally attractive lol

HA! Best reply ever.
Well I wouldn't go so far as to say that one ethnicity is more beautiful or attractive than the others, but generally, it's Japanese guys I drool over. Guys: 1 ~ Japanese 2 ~ Korean 3 ~ Chinese Girls: 1 ~ Chinese 2 ~ Korean 3 ~ Japanese
I can honestly say that for me, it's between Koreans and Japanese. I've seen so many Japanese and Korean dramas more than I have seen Chinese. Everyone is different I guess; as supposed to their acting skills and how they look. It's kinda hard for me to choose. As long as I'm entertained while watching either Korean, Japanese and Chinese, and if the actors and actresses looks gorgeously beautiful and play their roles well, I have no complaint. :D
