When you find out where they are, tell me too, please...I was looking for one in those whole 60 minutes I watched the 1st episode...
It's like the director is telling us "Girls, girls...You had real ikemens in the first version...you can have the same music, the same look of rooms...but isn't it too much to ask for more ikemens???"
All the same...My impressions are the same (see above my 10 points) :D
Okay so I went on DramaCrazy and decided to watch the first episode (without subs) and I only managed to get through 1O minutes of it. Maybe it was because there wasn't any subs...but it's just the characters are different, and the way things were going in it, I wasn't really feeling it. I might watch it again when it gets subbed, but so far I'm not really interested in it -___-
I started watching the first ep just to check it out, but I refuse to watch this. I feel like I'm betraying the original - which is so good that I would watch it for the 3rd time.

That's kinda how I felt while watching it. I couldn't get past even 1O minutes because I didn't like the changes! I'd watch the original for the 3rd time to instead haha

I dunno, I might try it again later when it gets subbed
I'm with you guys Joe and Crazy4You. I watched the first 10 minutes or so and was ok at first, for like a minute or two, but when the characters started showing up it all felt weird. I kept half-expecting the original cast to pop out of the shadows and go "Just kidding, we're back!"

I didn't mind some of the replacements for characters, like Ashiya's character. In fact, this actress may actually be better at facial expressions (don't shoot me Joe!). But other characters definitely didn't sit right with me, like Sano, Nakatsu, Nanba-senpai, Nanba's gay puppy, Yamamoto Yusuke's character (can't remember the name but the psychic one), the other team leaders, and the doctor. I didn't even get a chance to see the female director yet, so I can't judge that. But overall there were too many characters that didn't pass for me. It may be better quality wise, cause it's been a couple of years. But it's ONLY been a COUPLE of years. It's hard to get over the original version that fast to appreciate a remake. *sigh* /end rant

I agree with the characters. Haha yeah I think I did half hope that some of the original cast would show up or something that made it feel more like the original (but then if they did that there'd be no point in having a remake - still don't see the point since it's only been a few years but yeahhhh...). I agree with you about Ashiya's character - the replacement for her looks more boyish than Horikita Maki (although I liked her as Ashiya in the original). Once Sano showed up I started having doubts and then when they entered the classroom and I saw Nakatsu and everyone it made me uneasy. I don't think anyone can replace Toma-Kun as Nakatsu -____- The replacement for Nakao I thought looked cuter (better fits his manga image) but then it switched to Kayashima (the psychic) and I was like "no" haha. I didn't make it too much farther in the show - got to the point when everyone seemed to be piling up in the bathroom. It just feels like they tried to make it better than the original, but it wasn't (in my opinion). The original was cheesy, but I think it's better. Then again, I didn't even finish episode 1 of the remake.
Thank you for all your reviews!

I'm still giving myself a pep talk to get motivated. I'll probably wait until the entire series comes out before I start to watch it because this seems like a drama that may take a couple episodes to draw you in (if at all).

I still don't understand why they made a remake at all. Even the original Hana Kimi storyline was getting a little odd by the time they released that special with the friend who visited from America. The only point of doing a remake would've been to increase the quality and make it more culturally relevant, but the original came out just a few years ago, so there hasn't been much of a change.

Probably better to wait for it to come out haha. I wanted to get a "taste" of it haha. I don't really get why they made the remake either. The original J-Hana-Kimi storyline was pretty far off from the manga but it still drew you in and made you laugh like crazy haha. It would make more sense to continue the previous story or to have different characters. People who liked the original are just having a hard time without comparing (it really is hard not to do). I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens
Kawaikochan, mind if i edit your post and insert the MDL link and pic?

Most definitely :) feel free to edit away.
They uploaded the first episode with subs on Drama Crazy but I couldn't make it any farther without dropping it -___- Part of it is cuz I don't wanna ruin the image of the original cast. If I hear any good reviews about the remake later on I might try to watch it again, but at the moment I'm not really feeling it -___-
Am going to watch the 2nd episode...Wish me patience and luck :)
ganbatte! I stopped somewhere around 7 mins into the first episode.
Wow guys ur making it sound really terrible LOL. Im gonna at least try the first episode out though cause i love the HK story so much=)
Watched the 2nd episode :) And you know what? I'm actually liking the Sano here :) He's not the cold-not speaking to anyone-not participating in fun-not sharing any thoughts...previous Sano...Don't get me wrong...I'm crazy about Shun's Sano...But this Sano is more like the Sano in the manga...and by the way the plot is closer to the manga :) Try it guys, it's not that bad!
