Aww We still have a couple of months to wait?
No, not a couple of months!

Time Slip Dr. Jin mired in lawsuits, moves up premiere

What is WITH this drama and the drama? I know we joked that Song Seung-heon was running about making demands that his drama Time Slip Dr. Jin make it on the air before the similarly-themed Faith stole any of its time-traveling thunder. (And here I am screaming, THAT SHIP’S ALREADY SAILED and its name was Operation Rooftop Queen.) But now the production is in the thick of not one, but two lawsuits.

Lawsuit 1: Dr. Jin is suing Faith for plagiarism. Its argument is that Faith is plagiarizing the Goryeo-era time-traveling doctor bit right out of their script, for which Dr. Jin has very clear source material–the Japanese manga of the same name. I can see why they’re up in arms about it, since Faith didn’t reveal its time travel storyline until very recently, when the casting was in place. But uh… Faith has been in pre-production for YEARS, and with an A-list writer like Song Ji-nah (Sandglass, Legend) penning the script, I can’t imagine this case will hold any water in the end.

Lawsuit 2: Time Slip (Yigim Pictures) is being sued for THEIR writer, Han Ji-hoon (Road No. 1, Time Between Dog and Wolf), by production company Apple Tree Pictures. Apple is arguing that Han is a staff writer for them, and is breaching contract by penning a script for Yigim.

And then in the midst of all that behind-the-scenes drama, the production has decided to premiere SOONER. (Is it possible that all the time-travel drama has gone to their heads?) Maybe it’s an attempt to get it on the air before their writer gets yanked off the production due to legal battles. In any case, now Dr. Jin is set to air against Jang Dong-gun‘s upcoming drama, A Gentleman’s Dignity. Talk about gunning for top dog. I guess they decided to hell with story, let’s just go hottie for hottie.

So now Time Slip Dr. Jin (MBC) and A Gentleman’s Dignity (SBS) both premiere May 26. Let the battle of the Hottest 90s Oppa begin. *grabs popcorn, busts out Last Match OST*

Jang Dong-gun...a hottie? Maybe in a previous life...lol And wow... Two lawsuits. I hope it doesn't suck because of this. Can't they just get a new writer? They do it all the time... lol
lol I think they are worried since the other drama has LMH in it. Jaejoong is just as popular though. I agree with Lis, hopefully they will focus more on producing a good drama.

I agree, JaeJoong is just as popular (and I actually like him more...His voice gives him more points with me), but maybe because there's almost no news of Lee Minho lately, people might be hungry for him. But what's ironic is, they are doing all of this rushed and even if they air before "Faith", "faith" might still be better. Since they will have more time to prepare, re-write, change things, and learn from "Dr. Jin"'s mistakes. They might actually be helping the other drama and damaging themselves. Plus, like it says in the article "Faith" has been planned for years, it's not something new.

haha Exactly, and they aren't using their own personal material. They even stated that it was based off of Japanese material. Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. It seems that lot's of time travel dramas are either already airing or are coming soon. I wonder which ones will do well.

Yeah, there's even a Dr. Jin Japanese drama, which aired years ago.

Yeah, Time traveling seems to be the new theme fad...lol Food is out and now Time travel is in...lol

And I also wonder which ones will do well.
Aha. And then some.

Park Min Young and Kim So Yeon currently in talks for “Time Slip Dr. Jin”

Just as you thought the cast of upcoming MBC weekend drama “Time Slip Dr.Jin” couldn’t get any bigger. Well according to news, female actress Park Min Young (City Hunter) is currently in talks to play the female lead in the drama.

“Time Slip Dr. Jin” has already unveiled its top male castlist consisting of Song Seung Hun, Lee Bum Soo & Kim Jaejoong. Therefore the news for who will be playing the female lead in the drama has already been buzzing around.

On the 18th of April, the producing company for “Time Slip Dr. Jin” revealed, Park Min Young has the highest chances of being the female lead in this drama. Park Min Young’s representative also said: “We are currently negotiating about the contract.”

If she accepts the role, Park Min Young will play 2 roles in the drama. The first will be Doctor Jin Hyuk’s sister (Song Seung Hun), who is also a very famous doctor in current time and the another will be a maiden from a royal family. We could say that, “A person with 2 personalities” therefore this will be a new challenge for Park Min Young.

Other than that, Kim So Yeon is currently in negotiation for the other female lead in “Time Slip Dr. Jin”. Playing a mysterious woman in Joseon.

Male actor Lee Bum Soo has already accepted a role in the weekend drama and will likely play a secretive master/minister who hides he’s identity in Joseon.

“Time Slip Dr. Jin” will be airing on channel MBC on 26th of May 2012.

I don't know how he does it but all of his dramas had very good ratings so I am gonna check this one out because of him.

I can look at Jaejoong and at Song seung hun all day long but I am not a fan of their acting so It's a good thing Lee beom soo is in this.

Who's he? :)

I don't really like Park Min Young. It's already going downhill for me....lol

Edit: Ah! That guy...He's only in his 40s and looks much older...lol

He's a great actor. He's in Giant and History of a salaryman and other dramas but these are my 2 favorites of him.
Yeah, I looked up his pic and recognized him as the main guy in Salaryman. His face takes some getting used to, but yeah he can act very well.

From what I remember, I've only seen her briefly (and I mean before I dropped it) on Ja Myung Go (?), the first episode of Hometown Legends (2008) and in City Hunter and she isn't a bad actress, but she's not one of my favorites where I go and say "Oh! PMY is in this! I must watch it!" You'll never see that...lol

But I still prefer her over some other actresses...
