I may be an unreasonable person, but there are very good reasons why I don't like the Hongs's scripts. One of those is the pattern: annoying female and hot male.
I've said this before, but I suspect the Hong Sisters are in fact male writers who understand very little of the women world, but are geniuses in attracting the female audience with never-failing fan service.

That's why I understand Lis's question very well. ;)

I think you have seen 3 dramas by them: You're Beautiful, My Girl and Delightful Girl Choon Hyang.
"Big" is also written by the Hong Sisters, that's why we are talking about them here. :)

I'm not a fan of Hong Sisters - I still don't understand the popularity of YAB and The Greatest Love, but still I gave it a chance. And soon regretted it. I dropped this drama after watching first few minutes of the first episode. The main female was really annoying, this teenager guy was getting on my nerves too and the whole story seemed a bit boring. So I put it on my dropped list. But then I couldn't sleep and wanted to watch something less dramatic than The Princess' Man, so I started it again. And I have to say that now, when I have no expectations, it is rather pleasant to watch. I just concentrate at Goong Yoo's amazing body and laugh at main female's pathetic behaviour (when it comes to her beloved one, when it's not about him she is a bit more bearable). And this teenager guy is in coma, so I don't have to watch him! Plus, I just got to know what does "chocolate abs" mean! Well, how could I live so long without knowing this, I'm still amazed.

Wow, Rita you know that the awsome actors are the forcing power without watching the drama. Good that you don´t hate Suzy. Gong Yoo is doing a cute job in this drama.

I wasn't annoyed the lead females in The Greatest Love, My Girl or Hong Gil Dong...I know others were though. But I am the wrong person to ask because I like The Hong Sisters... LOL

i watched a few of hong sisters drama. (hong gil dong, my girl, you're beautiful, my gf is gumiho and recently big). i recently finished YB. i agree that female leads are sometimes annoying. hated minam in yb. she's the only character i hate in yb she goes overboard in her acting and i cant relate to her too naive kind of character. but nevertheless, i gave YB a 10. its fun watching them. for a romantic comedy its sure fun and entertaining. i watched romcom to lighten me up from work's stress. its a feel good drama so it does its purpose for me. hong sisters' dramas may have loose ends but they are great with twisting funny beats out of dramatic and/or emotional moments. i may shed a tear or two but the funny twist is for sure hilarious.

Actually I´m not a fan of the Hong Sisters, but I don´t hate them either.

As for Gong Yoo I saw him in Coffee Prince and the Crucible.

I would say you should at least give the first ep a shot and than drop it if it doesn´t chatch your attention.

i agree. how can anyone say its not good when in fact never tried to watch it hehehe...
