Since I discover Korea dramas and the Korean culture back in 2009 (I knew they existed before but they didn't got my attention up to that point) I have notice an essential factor in them. Even thou I love them and have seen lots of them I have to admit that sometimes it's predictable geometry makes me a bit annoyed.
First we have the Equilateral Triangle and you can find it right away on the first episode. Either compose by one girl two boys or two boys one girl. It will be typical romance in equal proportions by all three main characters or lovers. Even though we know that one of them will really fight and do all it takes to make the other one love him or her it is never going to happen.
Of course I am a Western and I am used to the happy endings. But wouldn't it be nice if they decide to switch this geometric drama theories and make the main character stay and fell in love with the other side of the triangle instead of the one we all know is going to end with? Drama sell fantasies and dreams, but what dreams or hope can the hard worker lovers have if the main character always choose the same side of the triangle?
What do you people think about this?
Have you found any other geometric figure in the Korean dramas?
