I watched the first episode yesterday actually, and I liked it enough to want to see the second episode. The opening credits are without question a cheap rip off of Sex and the City's opening, with cheesy faux samba playing and shots of the three friends glamming up the sidewalks of Seoul. So I approached the episode a bit guardedly, because I'm a fan of SATC (the show, not the atrocious films) and I have no interest in watching a K-drama try and fail to live up to it. SATC was obviously an inspiration for the writer(s) (the main character even does a voice over narration), but there's enough here that feels distinctly K-drama-ish. Plus, it's really neat to watch an Asian drama that depicts female characters talking about sex so openly. One character, the designated Maneater, tells the main character that she needs to research, explore, and discover her body---I think that was the moment that drew me in further than I had expected to go. The three friends are your basic cut-outs (the promiscuous one, the virgin, the in-between), but their banter felt very real and familiar to me---it reminded me of conversations I've had with my friends. And the young assistant who has a crush on the main lead is kind of a cutie. I'm already thinking up nicknames for him.
Um... So... Yeah, I liked the first episode, will watch the second some time this weekend before making a final decision.
