The drama, to me, is so cliche and kind of dull, repetitive. It's dramas where you really don't want to find out any spoilers that are the best. However, I'm watching this because of the actors in it and other than that, it's good! Not trying to put it down, just my opinion~

No, I think a lot of us are feeling this way. I am watching for the actors and the stand alone moments that are actually kind of fun. The plot on the whole is as flat as a pancake and some characterizations are just so unreal. I cannot relate to Tan and his problems. I cannot relate to Eun Sang and her decisions. But there are stand alone scenes that are enjoyable to me. Any scene with Kim Tan's Mom and Eun Sang's Mom, Bo Na and Chan Young, and psycho boy Young Do. I am mostly enjoying their acting / interactions / scenes. This is why I am watching.

Any hope for an exciting plot and cohesive story that entertains me and retains in my memory as a drama I loved is over. But one thing I do thank Heirs for ... And NO it's not the trip to America ... is the discovery of the awesome Woo Bin. I am a hungry little caterpillar now. I want to watch everything he has ever done. I just finished School 2013 and YUP! He's awesome. So yeah..

Heirs you are such a disappointment but thanks for THE WOO. the end.
I agree that this is a show marketed and made for young girls which is what bothers me the most about it. The fact that there are so many impressionable girls watching this show and enjoying the romance is worrisome. I don't dislike the show just because it's bad cliche riddled soup with way too many staring contests but because on top of those things, it is sending a very dangerous message in it's depiction of Eun Sang and Kim Tan. I've had issues in the past with the way women in Korean dramas are treated by their suitors and how they in turn react to this treatment (especially with this writer) but most of those shows were not geared towards as young of an audience as I think Heirs is. think the best shows, even those geared at young audiences, are not afraid to explore themes surrounding unhealthy relationships and complex characters. But when the relationship is depicted as "romantic" and the character who should be complex are one dimensional- then we've got a problem. In general, the characters in Heirs are not complex- they are inconsistent and poorly written. Their actions are to be taken at face value. Kim Tan is the Prince Charming, Eun Sang the Cinderella. Except Kim Tan is an immature, self involved Prince Charming and Eun Sang is a whiny and bland noodle of a Cinderella. If the writer had meant to write these characters as so unlikable that could be an interesting twist. but…no, that's not what this is. The fact that Kim Tan is the hero of this show is…ugh. It's not that I'm not down with some dark heroes with shades of grey in terms of morality (duh, Young Do is my favorite character) BUT not when it isn't explored or even acknowledged. We're supposed to believe that Kim Tan used to a bully (and why he was a bully? who knows) but now he's a nice, decent guy. Except he's not. He set up Young Do to get beat by his dad and then smirked as he walked out. He treats almost everyone with indifference, and doesn't seem to care about inconveniencing or bothering others. He drags Eun Sang around by the wrist, barricades her in rooms, and orders her around like a dog. And Eun Sang puts up with it which is equally troubling. The message this sends is that this is what is is to be passionate, and the girl should just let herself be treated that way because it's love? I think the blame is both on the writer and Lee Min Ho's portrayal of Kim Tan but in spite of being a pretty anal retentive and controlling ass he is also so, so boring and the character I least care about. Meanwhile, Eun Sang is not much better. She has just lost all my respect as a heroine and like another poster said, I don't even believe her as a character anymore. Eun Sang has confronted Young Do for his mistreatment of her and I'm glad she has. But meanwhile…she puts up with Kim Tan because…she likes him? And why is that again? How could Eun Sang and Kim Tan have such awesome moms yet be so lame? Maybe if they actually seemed to like each other I'd at least feel somewhat interested in what happens to them. I don't know if it's their negative chemistry or what but you know it's a bad sign when you're fast forwarding through all the scenes with your main couple because they are the least interesting part of the show. Whatever. I wish they could just run off together and disappear so the rest of the show would just be centered around Bo-na and Chang Young on vacation with Young Do.
@ jeanie did you not notice him in a gentleman's dignity. Le sigh. those boys needed thier own drama.

NO! How could I have missed him? I am in lurve. He is a very very good actor. He just oozes on screen charisma. I can't take my eyes off him. And the thing is, He isn't really that gorgeous to me. He's a strange attraction. I need to add him to that thread when I get home. When I first saw him I just couldn't understand why I was so attracted because he is far from classically handsome. It is ALL ABOUT HIS ACTING. but he's grown on me and now I am all blurgh...puddle of love for him. LOL Fangirl Ahoy!

And dont' get me started on Lee Jong Suk... ♥♥♥ Yes. they do need their own drama.
…don't know what this was a response too oopz

How could you not notice him in AGD :o

I am mesmerised with every role he has done so far (admittedly they are all in a similar vein)
@ Jeanie, the 1st time i saw kim woo bin it was a picture from vampire idol and i couldnt figure out WHY this guy was a model. i thought he was kinda funny lookin'. i mean i'm pretty sure his eyes are two differnt sizes and there is something almost cromagnon about the bone structure of his face. but then you see him in motion, moving talking making those eyes, exuding whatever the hell it is he exudes that gets you even from the other side of the screen, and the more you watch him the more you wanna watch him. can you imagine poor park shin hye having to stand across from him???? sure, i <3 LMH. he's frickin adorable, and i've really enjoyed several of his dramas. but anybody can be attractive. Kim Woo Bin isnt attractive, he's magnetic.

Exactly! You watch him walk (strut) or stand there in all his tall drink of water glory...Then he starts to talk and emote for the camera. I am a goner. His presence blows Lee Min Ho out of the water. No contest. And I like Lee Min Ho! But all that presence KWB has???

This is why he is THE WOO.

I loved Gentlemen's Dignity. I just adored it. Why in the bloody HE double hockeysticks don't I remember The Woo? I'm old...or something.

Also...If I were Park Shin Hye, I would be flubbing my lines left and right. ME STARE...YOU PRETTY. LOL And then I would be like...Ummm..Miss writer person.. Can you write us a kiss scene? Thank you verrrrry much.
well THE WOO has an album, you should go check it out if you havent. it isnt as huge or glorious as some of my other ones, but give me time. he had a pretty minor role, but he killed it (of course) go back and re-watch!

This right here!
i only worry about 2 kinds of young girls watching this: those who are taught by their society that this is an acceptable, even desirable way to treat women, as in the case of many young korean girls. the korean government and society are obviously of the position that television and music have a big impact on their youth, since they are so strict about what can be played on tv and radio. it's easy to deduce that if they thought this sort of thing was something to be worried about it wouldnt be plastered all over thier tv. that's sad. i also worry about girls who live in places with more modern ideas of gender roles but do not have anyone to teach them any better. i would not worry about my girls (7,13,16) watching this because they have two parents who are teaching them everyday through word and deed how people should treat their romantic parntners. a while back i was watching an different drama and the little one was watching with me and saw the ubiquitous wrist grab and pull. she screwed up her face in disbelief and scoffed. "When someone in my class does that to me i tell the teacher! why doesnt she tell the teacher?"
Everything Littlecorner and you are saying is what I was nagging on about during Playful Kiss. That whole dynamic is so not romantic to me. And Tan's constant "Don't do anything unless I tell you." demands. Hell, not even Psycho boy has pulled that crap on her! LOL Which I find really weird.
