[Discussion] Empress Ki

Yeah it's true !!! I'm so happy we're going to have 50 episodes of such awesomeness.

But there is one thing I'm afraid of *I'm shipping Nyang with the Emperor. And up until last week I was happy because Wikipedia told me she's going to have his baby....but now I'm afraid that that baby isn't really going to be his...judging from what happened last week...
But I still haven't lost hope, because Nyang had a very meaningful flashback of him after the King proposed to her....so she might be already falling for him^^*

oh no! I don't like the Emperor for her..But according to my source, although she married the emperor etc etc..she end up missing and the big question is? did she and the king runaway together lol. so there still hope that the ending will be brighter! Goryeo all the way!.......

Is Chang Wook a good actor? I guess so, because it's the second drama I'm watching with him, and in both of them his characters really pissed me off. For me he's too selfish, whiny, and somewhat weak. Well, even though I'm really enjoying this drama, whenever Seungnyang remembers Ta Hwan as if she also likes him, it really disturbes me. I mean, he's needy, and omfg, I know there are people who likes when one is all over, but he's kind of abusing, and childish. If someone makes your father die and then being the way he is with Seungnyang I'd only build up more hate... (I know he likes her/care for her, but still...) No friends of mine are watching this series, so I felt like I need to take it out my frustration about how Seungnyang is feeling about the emperor... Also, that's just my opinion... There's still 30 episodes, let's see how things go. ~~~OH, I HATE WHEN HE'S ALL "SEUNGNYANG! SEUNGNYANG! SEUNGNYANG!"~~~ orz

The last two episodes were amazing..actually the last four...no scratch that the entire drama is good. The emperor has grown so much ican see what a strong woman to love does to a man's character and pride. I feel so bad for Wang Yoo (Goryeo King), he had to give up Nyangy, he doesnt know about his son and he has to pretend not to love her any more..ohh the heartbreak. I know how it ends because of the what was shown in the first episode, but i still wish for one more affair. I can't help but be annoyed with the emperor every time he is alone with Nyang.

personally i dont think the first clip is the ending, there should be more to the ending. I think that scene would be close to the ending but not the end.

the whole thing is titled empress ki so she kinda has to end up with the emporer (who is gradually gaining my esteem). Though I could see how it could go a bit beyond what they show in that first clip.

I agree. At least I hope so. You know all the scenarios I wrote in my head about how this drama could end based on what happened to the real life Empress Ki. Hmm, now that I think about it, was it you or PD unni? lol

ahaha we talked about it in the beginning but i'm not sure if you shared alllll of it! but we def did talk about the history and how that might come into play... i'm sure our scenarios connect one way or another lol

I know its not the ending of the drama, just the indefinite ending for Wang Yoo and Nyang. Once she is married its kkeut for wang yoo.

I read up on the history of Empress Ki, some of the events portrayed did happen but the in-between events are the writers having fun... apparently that coup el tumar tries is his down fall and Bayan and Tal Tal help the emperor rule after El Temur's clan is thrown out. Empress Ki has a child with the emperor before el temur is thrown out and tries to get her son as the heir. Bayan gets kinda authoritative and passes some laws the others don't agree with and his nephew helps the emperor get rid of Bayan. If you pay attention to some of the lines that the characters say it foreshadows what is to come. But who knows whether it will be in the drama or not

From what I read in history, the emperor and Empress Ki had one epic love story that's being remembered in Korean history but the emperor's personality is totally different from the one in the drama. I also read that the writer of this drama will only follow the headlines of history with many changed details so I can guess that the ending will be based on what actually happened.

Just finished marathoning and truly this drama offered an enjoyable ride throughout. I maybe outnumbered here but I gave the emperor a chance to make me like him, however (4winkay chingu, forgive me), anything he did (or did he really do anything worthy at all? His life is all about Nyang, whatever, without her, for me he's still nothing), his presence didn't warmed to me at all in the course of 35 episodes. Seun Nyang owned this drama and because it is that way, and the story is well told for her character to shine in this drama, I will not mind the love story wherever it will go. More or less, the future belongs to her sons and either, it's a win-win situation to both Yuan and Goryeo. My favorite character aside from Nyang is Taltal. Gosh, I think I love him, hehehe.. I would've preferred him instead of the Emperor for Nyang. Aissh, with the episode 1 still not on it's narrative, it's the same dilemma with Reply 94., I hope I'm not on the losing battle again. Aigoo. Still, I can say I love this drama! :D
