I re-watched it thrice complete and I lost the count of the times I rewinded scenes or lines here and there. I translated the subs for a friend who doesn't read English and this is how I fully realized how clever this script is, how hilarious, surreal and consistent - despite its being a fantasy show. Little details, scattered all over the show, are addressed and concluded.
But the aspect which made me an obsessed gardener is the fact that this was, ultimately, Joo Won's love story. It was the first time I "lived" a drama love story through the eyes of a man, instead of a woman. It made it all the more surprising and interesting to me.
And I won't deny it: its having my favourite actor as the main lead was a fantastic bonus. I should probably hate the man for making me fall in love with him without redemption.
I wasn't this silly at 15... :p
Very well said, Amrita! This is the first time more was shown from the male's POV in a relationship. Joo Won fell hard and Ra Im's character had to catch up. It was hard to determine what she was thinking/feeling until the later episodes.
I loved everything about this drama to the point that I've purchased it. Now I can fantasize over Hyun Bin while folding laundry (LOL). As a side note, I would have loved to have seen Joo Won's sister (Choi Yoon So) get together with the directors second (Jang Seo Won); now that would have been a great match.
