Hi, I am on the 5th episode of this drama and the 'surprise' thing just happened...I was really drawn to the story up to now as the chemistry between the two main characters was amazing, but what happened at the end of this episode makes me wonder if this chemistry will carry on and for how long the 'thing that happened' will carry on for as I have 15 more episodes to watch. I hope this is not the main issue of this story as I was enjoying it as it was going even without this major event...I will carry on for a few more episodes and hope the situation goes back to normal as soon as possible. Can anyone reassure me on this, thanks?
I recently found the commentary by Hyun Bin and Ha Jo Won from the DVD... how nostalgic... made me want to rewatch this for the 4th time...

I can, I CAN!!! It's amazing with its every moment, and the chemistry doesn't fail even for a second, even at THAT times :p

Don't worry, Sunflower: they switch back pretty soon. They will switch again, though, because there is a precise reason why they are given the flower-wine to drink, a specific event which has to be prevented.
The romance will become more intense in future episodes, so I suggest you enjoy the funny - you'll laugh out loud - of episodes 6 and 7, and then you'll be back on the emotional/romantic ride. :)
Keep in mind the fantasy part of this drama has a purpose. It's not an element thrown in just to provide the comic. So it is the "theme" of the drama, but it never lasts too long. ;)

P.S. I'm rewatching it too (for the nth time), with my mom, hahaha. Do you mind if I write an episode review now and then too? My opinion will be filtered through the eyes of a third party. :)

I wrapped it up in a last summary comment in the K2H thread. You were the only one reading me, LOL ;)

omg brings bac memories! thanks for the vid <3
gee, thanks for the reassurance Amrita828, as I was sooo passionately involved in their love story I was really worried that the drama was all going to be focussed on their switches with the romance part being put aside...thanks so much and I will carry on watching it with enthusiasm as I am not too fond of the fantasy side of things...by the way, happy watching with your mum (I am probably about her age too!!)

You're welcome. I won't lie: the fantasy aspect in Secret Garden is strong. However, the romance is so engrossing - at least in my opinion - the fantasy becomes a simple device to a purpose. I myself wouldn't have loved this drama if it had focused only on the switch, therefore I understand your concerns. But don't dispair: actually I dare you not to fall for this couple even more from episode 9 on. ;)
Thank you, I'm very curious to see how my mom will react. ;)

what rita said is correct! the switchign is just a small part of the drama, when i got my sister to watch this the latter half was the part that got her addicted

I'm sure you're mistaken, Rita~ it was so interesting to see how a person from 'outside world' reacts to the drama, lately I gave K2H to my best friends to watch, and she watches as much dramas as I do and we mostly have the same taste, and you know what? she didn't take it seriously... she told me that as a political scientist I shouldn't like it and laugh at it, as it's so much fairy-tale-y... couldn't believe my ears... there was no moment I doubted the reality of the drama... it turns out, she took the drama to watch as she thought it was going to be pure romance... and it didn't live up to her expectations.... blasphemy... *shakes head*

Ha! Tell your friend that I have a much more reliable source of information: a prosecutor at the ICC! And she assures me there is absolutely nothing to laugh about. Apart from the monarchy scenario - which we all know is fictional - the international intricacies and hardships in filing a lawsuit at the International Court are very accurate, and so are the infiltrations of weapon dealers' interests in the high political seats all over the world.
If she wants fluffy romance, she should stick to You're Beautiful and the like. :p
