Abs and I watched Secret Garden over Christmas. For her it was her second viewing but I hadn’t seen it. When she told me about the storyline I didn’t really get the whole swapping bodies thing and I can’t say that I was that impressed. It wasn’t like…..YEAH LETS WATCH IT!!! Especially since it didn’t have Lee Min Ho in it either. It was more like O…..k…..a…..y l…e…t…s w…a…t…c…h i… t… t….h…e…n, said with as much enthusiasm as going to the dentist. (Sorry to any dentists who might be reading this.) But boy did I have a change of heart! The characters were sooooo lovely with Hyun Bin – his acting was brilliant especially in the elevator scene – and Gil Ra Im - Ha Ji Won in her scenes with Kim Joo Wons mother (Snarl – Snarl – Hiss – Snarl) so I really got won over and I loved it. Yes it had plenty of tears attached to it but there were also lots of Ahhhhh moments to. Oh how lovely was that!!! We decided that it needs to become an annual Christmas watch for sure.
The main guy was soooooooo cute and the main lead girl could be annoying at times. This is just my opinion, after thinking alot, the ending was crap =( But overall the drama was good 8.5/10

kyaaaaaaaa~ i'm happy...i was just reading about this the other day ^^..i would not want to be HJW in my next life but yes, i would MOST definitely want Binnie to be my boyfriend (in this life and next and next and next....) :)
Seriously , one of my most favourite dramas of all time, it literally keeps you on toes all 20 eps through. Loved every second of it ^^
i really like this one too, but i'm a freak, i thought the whole body switching thing was pointless and really nothng more than shtick. it didnt add anything meaningful to the story line, except to give Joo Won an avenue to SPOILERS-->sacrifice himself for Ra Im, which could have been achieved in a thousand other ways. the rest of the time spent on body switching is just predictable faux pas and an excuse to watch Hyun Bin channel a gay dude (he certainly wasnt portaying Gil Ra Im) which was hilarious. End spoliers

Yes, it could have been made in a thousand other ways (although I personally can't see so many other ways other than physically jumping into that car instead of her) , but it didn't , because that's the story of secret garden. Part of its success - and the reason why I for one loved it to bits - is that it combined so many different genres in a whole which, regardless of to the way you want to interpret the body switch, is consistent. As I see it, the body switch satisfied the comedic as well as the romantic, since it was a way for the two main characters of exploring each other world, which is paramount to a couple so unbalanced in temper, interests, backgrounds, culture and, last but not least, physicality. And although the theme body/soul switch has been explored before and is per se nothing new, the way in which it was used in SG is different thanks to that purpose you say you don't see, something which by the way doesn't make you a freak, imo. :)
i finally picked up this drama after seeing Big Bang's parody. Man, i'm at 4'th ep and his mom just made first appearance...Daesung's face just pooped in: "neodo smeeeell". lol i just burst out laughing. i literally have tears in my eyes from laughing!! XD
*sigh* I want to rewatch it....
I'm attempting to watch this drama currently... OMG I STILL can't stand Ha Ji Won's short hair... It might as well be burned off seriously wtf -_-
