Apart from the monarchy scenario - which we all know is fictional - the international intricacies and hardships in filing a lawsuit at the International Court are very accurate, and so are the infiltrations of weapon dealers' interests in the high political seats all over the world.
If she wants fluffy romance, she should stick to You're Beautiful and the like. :p

If she hadn't watched it yet, I'd tell her so :p I'm already tired of repeating, that even I as a new graduated student could understand what it laughable in politics and what is not and that I did not laugh at any of the scenes... but she's just rejecting my every idea... her loss...
Exactly! You as a political scientist are the one who knows the most about it, not her. I know this is not the place to debate about another drama, but even if the whole concept of K2H were just a utopia (and why not? Can't people dream?), we fell in love with those wonderful characters, not with the North Korean ideology. I repeat: there are a million dramas out there dealing with romance, in a very unrealistic way too, let me add. K2H is definitely not one to laugh about.
You have all my heartfelt solidarity, Violet. ;)

The fact that I mentioned this in SG thread is not that unrelated to the thread, you know~
I mean, she's crazy about SG... and SG has fantasy too... and more funny and unexplainable one in addition... while K2H only presents the fantasy environment, and leaves at that, other facts are true-true-true... ehhh~ what can I do... I just left her alone...
Thank you, Rita~ ^^

We are protective, aren't we? ;)
I'm protective of SG and I am of K2H. They are two very different dramas, and as such should be valued.
The concerns raised by sunflowers are understandable, because Secret Garden IS a fantasy drama. But the characters are so well explored, their bond created so slowly and steadily at some point it didn't feel so unrealistic anymore. I have always considered the switch (and what happens on episode 18 - don't want to spoil the fun for sunflower), to be metaphors of these two very different people understanding the world of one another.
Joo Won more than anyone was so prejudiced he needed a true earthshaking experience to fully understand what it meant to be "an alienated neighbour".
In more than one occasion, I was reminded of Pride and Prejudice. With a huge twist, of course. ;)

Yes we are! :) And I like that a drama can make me protect its honor! :p

Perfect parallels, Rita~!

haha~ YIHA~~~
Well I finished watching this drama and I want to thank you for encouraging me to carry on with it as it was really superb. I have to say that the parts that I enjoyed less were the 'switching' parts mostly because I found it all hard to believe, however the acting also in these instances was brilliant. I have to say that I had rarely seen such a passionate love story in my life and the actors really conquer the viewer little by little. I will certainly rewatch it in the future as it really deserves a second watching for the beautiful sceneries (the houses too...wow!) and the great, great actors .

Welcome to the club of SG lovers, Sunflower, I'm truly glad you didn't regret going on. :D
Indeed, the love story is wonderful, intense and romantic, and I too prefer the parts where they are themselves, but the switch had a true purpose and they were hilarious in the clothes of one another. I think this drama is worth a rewatch (or several, lol), for the dialogues alone. Some lines are memorable, either because they are over the top funny, or because they are incredibly poetic. :)
This discussion is making me want to re-watch.

There were so many genuinely funny moments in this. here are some of my spoilery faves in white:

1) Joo Won's screaming like a girl in episode 1
2) Joo Won (Ra Im) and Oska kiss.
3) All the other kisses (which weren't comedy but so so good.)
4) Moment I will never forget: When Ra Im and Joo Won are at the mountain retreat. They are going to bed and Joo Won scoootches on the floor between Ra Im and Jong Soo like an inchworm so he can be close to Ra Im! OMO! I cracked up laughing so hard.
5) The body switching moment when they are on the couch in the hotel room and they are basically feeling each other up and Yoon Seul walks in on them.
6) Episode 3's push ups on the mat. Even before the cute sexy part when Joo Won shoo's away the spotting partner with his feet. OMO! LOL!
7) OSKA!!! So awesome.

I almost forgot

8) All the cute moments toward the end when they are together. Especially the part where Ra Im pushes Joo Won on the bed, climbs on top and kisses him. DARLING! and played in this funny and cute way by the actors/characters.

I think I will watch a few episodes right now. LOL
the foot volleyball scene in ep. 2 is one of my favourite scenes...i have probably watched it like a 100 times and each time i have rofl-ed.. just watched it again for the nth time and rofl-ed....he's soooooooooooo cute...<3 him to pieces *sigh*
Ahhhhh! Sweet one! u ppl r tempting me to re-watch!! am just starting it again .. ;)
Yay! Let's have a re-watch party!
I'm only on episode 3 with my mom, and tomorrow night it's going to be 4th and 5th. :D

MY favourite scenes are not the funny ones, although the humour in SG is - in my opinion - unparalleled. I have a weakness for the angsty ones. Among many others, one I've loved the first time and every time I re-watch is Joo Won at the theatre, imagining RaIm seated next to him, once with the mended bag, then with the vacuum cleaner (lol) and finally with the money envelope. Great scene.
I watched Episode 1 today. I forgot how funny that WHOLE hotel room scene was where Joo Won is talking about prostitution and Ra Im is talking about being a stunt woman. OMO! Their first meeting was so funny. ♥ I am going to watch more tomorrow. Oh lord. I'm never going to catch up on Ghost and K2H!
