Kemono no Souja Erin (this may look like something for small children, but it's really not. It soon turns into something that's neither harmless, nor extremely light, nor simple, but quite amazing)

Of course it depends on your taste. Those are some titles I quickly found you haven't seen yet, which I'd think are special or "great" (8+) and very well made.

I tend to think that the olders jdramas are the best and recent not so much, that's why most of them are old.

Paradise Kiss (same mangaka as Nana. Both were made into movies)
Bokura ga Ita (I see you saw the movies, its basically the first part but I think the anime was a lot better and gave off a different feeling than the movie)

By the way, thank you for Myanimelist.net, I didn't know this website. I'll probably use it. This jdrama list should be to your taste. As I compared mine to yours, I saw we had similar taste appart from 2 or 3 dramas. Be aware, some of those have sad endings but they're worth it.
