Afternoon, everybody.

I guess I just cannot get enough, but I am looking for historical dramas.

  • If possible, spoil the nature of the ending: I prefer happy to bittersweet;
  • Can be total fiction, I just need the costumes to be honest;
  • Love triangles, squares, octagon or whatever always welcome;
  • Korean and Chinese are my favorite;
  • Kinda want to avoid CGI;
  • No favorite period.

Thank you!

  • Nirvana in Fire - epic drama with bittersweet but totally satisfying ending. Not much romance
  • Story of MingLan - happy ending and very satisying love story with strong love triangle
  • The moon that embraces the sun - happy ending for the main couple, bittersweet for the rest
  • Princess Man - kinda happy ending
  • Scarlet Heart (Chinese) - tragic ending
  • Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms - fantasy drama happy ending with lots of funny CGI. But totally worth it
  • Jewel in the palace - happy ending
  • DongYi- happy ending, harem dra
  • Yisan-bittersweet ending

Historical but during the 1930-1950 of Japanese occupation in china/korea

  • Battle of Changsa - happy ending for the main couple, bittersweet for the rest
  • Mr. Sunshine - tragic end, with reverse harem of three guys liking 1 girl.
  • The Disguise--bittersweet ending. Not much romance
  • Bridal Mask - tragic end with very heavy love square

Thanks!

Jumong - big sweeping epic, similar feel to Queen Seondeok - tons of fun, ending is bittersweet but mostly happy

Return of Iljimae - meditative, lovely,  bittersweet but not horribly tragic ending

Six Flying Dragons - absolutely amazing, not a happy ending

Sungkyunkwan Scandal - lots of adorable romance/bromance, ending is a bit awkward but generally happy

Painter of the Wind - lovely show with stunning art - the ending is a bit ambiguous, and some folks interpreted it as a downer, but I thought it was awesome and very positive
