I'm a fan of BL but so many of them  - especially the Thai ones it seems - features actors and characters in their late teens/early 20s. I have nothing against teen romances but as a person in their early 30s I would occasionally like to see characters near to my own age. So I'm specifically looking for BLs with adult characters, late 20s and up.  Thanks!

Thanks, a couple of those are new to me but I've watched most of them :D

Reviving my own thread because it's 3 years later and I'm craving some older protagonists again.

I've watched both but thanks for responding :D

 Chun Mo Rionnag:

To be fair, the genre is Boys' Love, so ... older characters are not all that common.

Have you watched:

yep, lol everything except Kare ga Boku ni Koishita Wake which I wasn't a fan of and dropped.

Asia tends to lump everything queer related into the BL category (as do most users of the site I've noticed). Unfortunately older queer stories seem to be relegated to sad movies about queerness being tragic. And while those are entertaining to watch when you want a good cry or to feel some feelings, it'd be nice to to see more older happy queer characters for a change.  BL as a genre tends to be happier but also doesn't tend to tell stories of older protagonists. So my options seem to be either sad and/or dark movies a la Your Name Engraved Herein or The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese, or freshed faced teens and 20 years olds having sexual awakenings and coming outs.

at this point I'll take more sad queer movies recommendations too, I haven't looked to see what new offerings in  that vein there might be.

If you're happy with LGBTQIA+ content with older protagonists, you might consider perusing GagaOoLala's selections from Asia. They do have a BL category as well but none that you have not already seen, and BL/Yaoi forms only a small part of their collection.

Strongberry have put some of their works up there, including Buddy Park, which is a comedy.

one of these days I'm just gonna buy some Strongberry stuff as a treat. I'm hesitant to take on another streaming service (ugh so many......)

Oh, I forgot "Moonlight Chicken" (2023) one of the MLs is nearing 40. But, you've watched that, too, right?
