Enemies-to-lovers dramas

Hi, friends!

I'm hoping for some recommendations of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai dramas that feature an enemies to lovers dynamic. Don't hold anything back - I'm pretty much alright with any level of "enemies".

"Enemies" can also mean rivals, two people who have witty or tense back-and-forths whenever they're together, or even a case of one party ignoring the other for whatever reason. Also, when I say "lovers", they do not have to be romantically involved with each other. I'm just as inclined to watch a platonic relationship unfold from tension, eg. Handsome Siblings, Birth of the Drama King.

Bonus points if it:

  • takes place in a historical, fantasy, xianxia, wuxia, or xuanhuan environment.
  • fits in the BL genre.
  • is slow burn.
  • has angst or cut-deep themes.
  • finished airing.
  • doesn't have meddlesome or annoying love triangles.

I've already watched shows like SOTUS, TharnType, Boys Over Flowers, Itazura Kiss, or other highly "classic" shows under the trope. I have HIStory in my watch list. If there are any other enemies to lovers shows you have enjoyed - especially Chinese, Korean, or Japanese shows - please throw them out and recommend them!

Ooooo, I've been looking for some too. Heres a couple that I have watched.

More complex and less rom-commy:

- New tales of Gisaeng( 52 eps but amazing and got me into longer dramas)

- Innocent Man(makjang)

- Secret (makjang)

- The winter that blows (makjang)

- stars falling from the sky(end up becoming roomies)

-  wonderful life( they hookup and have a child + get married for the child but hate each other)

- mask( arranged marriage and secret identity)

Rom-commy ones:

- her private life

- weightlifting fairy kim bok joo

- suspicious partner

- touch your heart

- falling for innocence(her ex-boyfriend gave his heart to the new love interest)

- it's okay that's love

- coffee prince(gender bender)

- emergency couple (ex-marriage partners)

- full house

- Goong (drama with royalty in it!!!)

- marriage not dating

- my secret romance 

- shining inheritance ( if you like the rich man and poor girl + roomie trope)

lmk if you need more but this should suffice. They are mostly kdramas tho.

There is a lot of Thai dramas that focuses on BL so I would recommend go there. As for Chinese, Japanese and Korean are a bit harder to find. The quantity are less and sometimes so is the quality (as in good-looking guys). 

I really like Birth of The Drama King; I just wish that it would match the novel particular the relationship...the actors are super cute and handsome. I love the theme song. You can click on the blue highlight to direct you to a new page.

ML attacks the family of the FL in business and private - she stands up against him. He likes how she fights back and fall in love with her.
