Hello everyone,

Recently I'm really into romance type series (mostly/prefered) korean and would like to ask if you can recommend me some more.

The 2 most recent shows I watched are

Love is a romance book
Something in the rain

Especially the second on really gripped me. I liked the setup, where they came together rather early in the story. The in between break up shouldnt have been imo, but the rest of their story together was really beautiful to watch.

Both are not overly dramatic and they give me a good vibe. While watching Something in the rain, I caught myself multiple times smiling from ear to ear for several minutes because it was so sweet und cute from time to time, it kinda touched me. I hope you somehow now what I mean. Before someone assumes it, it is only coincidence that in both shows above the woman is older, thats not a criteria but also not not liked. I jut like to see a good romance, maybe sometimes cute and lovey-dovey, haha.

I would rather have a show where they come together early on and experience things together instead of in the last 10 mintues of the show
And obsivously with a happy ending, I know I'm a man, but I cant watch bad endings. Those break me if I began to like the characters.

I hope you can recommend me some shows like that,  I know I'm quite specific here.

I can't wait to dive into another one of these types.

From my list (thanks to you I see that I don't watch too many dramas which are only romance, often they have also elements of the crime) but I think  sweet couple is in "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" (sport and romance, without crime). Drama where the romance is the main element of the plot is also "What's Wrong with Seceretary Kim" (also rather sweet even if it has some hard moments but it's rather concerned the childhood of the characters, particularly ML) .

From another country, I really recommend "Forever Love" (China, 2020) - it's one of the best and the maturest couple in chinese dramas and in dramas in general. At the beginning the behavior of the FL would look annoying but it worth watching until the end - with every episode it's better. And their relationship is written very well, without manipulation, emotional blackmail and others unhealthy behaviors.

And I'm really curious if you could recommend me something like this but what I haven't watched yet.  I wait your propositions if you want to do it of course :)

kdramas

  • Tomorrow With You (2017) - a more mature romance/melo-drama featuring a very cute married couple (they get together in the first 5 eps). LJH and SMA have absolutely crazy chemistry. there are a few up-and-downs in their relationship but the romantic scenes are swoon-worthy.
  • Find Me In Your Memory (2020) - a heartwarming romance/melo-drama with a very sweet couple. it's a slow-burner and people call it a subtle romance but the connection between the leads is undeniably there and it is very beautiful.
  • Run On (2020) - perhaps my fav slice-of-life romantic drama. this drama is filled with good vibes and the couple really is the perfect example of healthy relationship between two mature adults.

cdrama

  • My Little Happiness (2021) - a rom-com with an absolutely adorable main couple with sizzling chemistry. a lot of scenes had me squealing in happiness bc they were so sweet and fluffy. the 2nd lead couple were just as cute.

also i have not seen it but One Spring Night (2019) is a drama often enjoyed by those who've liked Something in the Rain. JHI is the ML in both dramas and both dramas have the same director and scriptwriter, thus i believe they have the same romance/melo-drama vibe.

  • Bromance - Taiwanese romance drama where the FL dresses as a man. Partly an office romance. The leads get together semi-quickly and are very lovey dovey / have excellent skinship. Over the top in a fun way that makes parts that would otherwise be serious (e.g. mafia in fighting) feel comedic or light hearted. Makes me smile every time I watch it, despite my second hand embarrassment.
  • Lucky's First Love - A Chinese office romance drama that's sort of a cross between Love O2O (which is also good) and Romance is a Bonus Book. The ML is the CEO of a gaming start up and the FL is a designer and his first employee, whom he has had a crush on for a long time.
  • A Poem a Day - A Korean workplace (hospital) romance drama. This one is similar to Something in the Rain and Romance is a Bonus Book in the sense that the vibes are fairly mature and understated (as you put it, not overly dramatic) and the plot is mainly focused on real world / realistic struggles and relationships, while still being fairly light. The FL is a physical therapist on a temporary contract and the ML is a doctor. However, unlike Something in the Rain and Romance is a Bonus Book, the FL falls first in this one.
  • Because This is My First Life - A Korean romance drama. I wouldn't classify this as a workplace romance, but the leads work and colleagues are a significant part of the plot. There is a subplot that deals with sexual assault, but the drama is mostly very light and not dramatic. The leads enter into a "fake" marriage (better described as a marriage of convenience) for practical reasons rather than dramatic reasons. Definitely has a nice understated / quiet / mature feeling to it.

A Piece of your Mind - melodrama with sloooow burning romance. Chemistry between leads is very good (Chae Soo Bin has good chemistry with anyone :)) It is nice heartwarming and healing romantic story.

Thanks for those many answers so far!
I will go through the. I think I have a lot to do. At least tomorrow is a holiday :)
