Hi everyone I'd like it if you could recommend me a drama that's a bit out there. You know how the protagonist is always the good and poor girl and the male lead is the rich guy who is engaged to another girl of his status or she likes him. Does anyone know of a drama from that point of view. The girl who likes the male lead bullies the female lead and is a villain of the story. I'd like it if she and the male lead get together but I'm okay without that. Honestly, it doesn't even have to be a happy ending I'd just like the see a drama from that unusual point of view. They could be older already married like the dramas about the rich madams but they have to reference the drama with her getting the male to choose or not choose her.

If I correctly understood, you want dramas where we can see more of SFL point of view, more depth of her character and more relationship (even if they don't end up together) with ML?

I'm I correct?

first what came to mind The Innocent Man SFL is kind of bad person, as character/screen time she is equal to FL. SFL was love of his life, she betrayed him and drama is about his revenge, though his feelings are still hot, love/hate

Queen of Ambition  - kind of same story, FL and her story, relationship to ML is like SFL from innocent man, though that FL is worst ))))  also here is SFL who is more like FL (I mean good person and her story is like FL from innocent man)
overall these 2 dramas have many many common things and similarities, but FL/SFL are replaced

in The K2 I would say SFL is real FL, more screen time, more depth, very strong, interesting, not good person though it's also not that simple, she is kind of person who had strength from being victim to become hunter and most big-strong hinter . most of the fans (me too) think she had more chemistry with ML then FL

Ja Myung Go  historical drama, FL and SFL are sisters and both characters are developed, SFL point of view, her relationship to ML is quite deep, not typical dynamic between ML-FL-SFL

Tempted  also not typical dynamic between ML-FL-SFL, also SFL point of view, her relationship to ML is quite deep, I would say SFL is more complex and interesting character, also sometimes bad girl.

*** I didn't mentioned dramas with multiple leads, I mean where ML-FL-SFL isn't case and SFL has her own story/man. also I didn't mentioned dramas with not so developed SFL character

p.s. there are more and interesting  dramas where SML is developed and/or FL falls for him, if you interested love triangles like that you can see this list:

This type of storyline (usually with the term 'villainess' in the title or tagged as "villainess  noble girl") is all the range in Asian webnovels/webtoons these days so I'm surprised there are not more drama adaptions.  A lot of these novels/comics are very explicit in presenting the protagonists as the typical 2nd female lead of older works.

That being said, in female protagonist in these few examples are not engaged to the ML or bully the other girl but they do have a lot of characteristics of the 'typical' second female lead:

  • Mr. Queen - FL is married to ML, comes from a rich family and is rumored to be mean, SFL is good/pure and not as well-off
  • The Romance of Tiger and Rose: like Mr. Queen, FL dropped into the role of a villain, although more a side female villain
  • Love Destiny: FL dropped into the role of villain
  • Cinderella's Sister: FL is very bitter and mean; SFL is innocent and sweet
  • Miss Gu Who is Silent: FL is more cold and calculating, SLF is innocent and sweet. Not really rivals for ML however.
  • Kleun Cheewit: FL is rich, powerful and rumored to have an attitude. No real contrasting poor/nice girl tho.
  • Bonus: Extraordinary You: as the title implies, FL dropped into the role of a side character

Hope you find this helpful!

maybe there is another drama with same name?

because "Mr. Queen" which I've seen doesn't really have SFL (yes there are female characters but strictly support  roles, and I'm not sure who is good/pure)

as for FL she is man in woman's body (acted phenomenally  by actress) who is arrogant playboy, funny and lightminded, she/he marries ML and the whole situation is very funny. there are few scenes where that actress plays female who is real owner of the body, who comes from a rich family and is mean (not rumored, she was mean woman)

No, we are talking about the same drama. I interpreted OP's request differently. I though she was asking for a drama with role reversal - where the main female lead has the characteristics of a stereotypical second female lead (i.e. rich, mean, has an arranged marriage agreement with ML who she is also secretly in love with or mean to that poor innocent FL) and told from her point of view. Like Cinderella but where the female lead is the Evil Stepsister. Or a harem drama where the female lead is that jealous empress/concubine that gets in the way of the ML and FL's love. To me, Mr. Queen fit the criteria because So Yong starts off portrayed in a very classic-second-FL like manner: she's in an unrequited love with the ML, she has the backing of a rich family and mean to servants. Meanwhile, the other female lead (Jo Hwa Jin) is initially portrayed with typical characters of classic female leads - she is pure, kind-hearted, righteous and has the love of the male lead. The story fleshes out and subverts these initial premises however especially due to the soul switch.

I guess you were interpreting the request differently - that the main and second female lead keep their stereotypical personalities but the drama spends more time on and fleshes out the rich/mean/bullying SFL. Maybe the OP can clarify what she/he meant :)

I meant the main character or FL had a personality that was closer to a Second Female Lead than a regular female lead. You were right Hanah. Someone who would be considered the antagontist in a normal drama.

it wasn't clear in first post. I thought you wanted reach-deep SFL characters.

then I guess:

Queen of Ambition  - FL is almost villain, I dont think there is another FL that much antagonistic.

Mr. Queen  and It's Okay to Not Be Okay  have most amazing, unforgettable female leads, not typical, very bright and individual personalities, not so nice but so lovely, also these 2 actress are really best, amazing acting.

Cruel City

I Hear Your Voice

Arthdal Chronicles   (not only female leads, every character is great and not regular, nothing is regular and "seen already" in this drama)

A Man's Story  (very SFL type FL, also SML is very interesting, bad guy who actually wins at the end
