What the title says. It's a bonus to me if it's a historical film or drama since I love historical settings the most but I will take anything from any country. I'm open to both straight and LGBTQ+ couples. Thanks!

Dramas where both leads are generally good / nice and the narrative emphasizes their talents / intelligence (and the type of intelligence they have is similar):

Dramas where both leads are generally good / kind and the leads are both smart but in different ways:

  • You Are My Glory - The ML went to a top university and double majored in finance and aerospace engineering. He is naturally good at gaming. The FL went to a good university and became an actress. She is not well versed in science and isn't naturally good at gaming. Her intelligence is mostly shown in the drama through her EQ and the way she handles people.
  • Dali and the Cocky Prince - The FL is well educated and cultured. She speaks multiple languages and is an expert in the field of art, but is naive when it comes to the realities of running a business. The ML worked his way up from humble beginnings. He is not cultured or highly educated, but he has business smarts.
  • Sound of the Desert - Both leads are strong fighters and are good at reading / adapting to complicated social / political situations. The FL is also shown to have a good head for business while the ML is a talented general.

Dramas where the leads are not always saints, but their hearts are in the right place and in the long run they're good / nice and smart in their own way:

Dramas where the leads are very nice people of normal intelligence (not necessarily smarter than everyone around them, but not dumb either and diligent / competent in their work):

Keun Ruk Salub Chata The ML is conventionally intelligent and successful, the FL not so successful but she has more street smarts. They are both extremely nice, like too good for their own good.

Roy Leh Marnya probably the nicest ML in thai lakorn. Waaay too nice, to be honest, but not a door mat. The FL is equally nice and they both are really successful and competent in their field.

Kill Me, Heal Me they both are smart, successful in their respective field and super nice and cute (but mature, not childish)

Love Is Sweet , the leads are also sweet. They're both smart, though the ML is more successfull but there's a good reason for that.

Lying Heart this is interesting because they both start out nice but something happens and they both start acting like *ssh*les. They also are both equally smart and successful.

Lub Luang Jai this is the nicest, most successful couple I've seen on tv. I swear they are saints or something.

Thanks for the recommendations! Some of these are ones I have started and then dropped but I will check them out again. And I will definitely check out the ones I haven't seen.

- Romance is a bonus book

- Romance of tiger and rose

- Flower of evil (kind of)

- Vincenzo

- Falling into your smile

  • Bad and Crazy
  • Start-Up
  • Tale of the Nine-Tailed

Thanks for all the suggestions! I wouldn’t be opposed to more historical show suggestions if anyone has any.

For historical:  Love in the Moonlight and Lovers of the Red Sky.  In both, the leads are smart and nice.

Also, both have Kim Yoo Jung as the FL (in Moonlight she was only 16 when it was filmed, so her kisses with Kim Bo Geum might have been her first in real life as well).  She and Geummie are adorable together.
