According to these k-dramas which my parents watched and liked, what others do you think they'll also like? The ones with the most asterisks are the ones they really really liked. It needs to be "exciting" enough and they also love a good laugh! I also noticed a pattern with the dramas they really liked - it always has an underlying mystery. They also keep asking for office related dramas.

Dramas I showed them but they didn't like and didn't want to continue with are:

  • Fight For My Way
  • Hotel Del Luna (too scary for them / they don't like fantasy)
  • Touch Your Heart
  • Boys Over Flowers (2009) (They don't like school settings and the violence they saw at ep 1-2)
  • It's Okay to Not Be Okay (wasn't exciting enough)
  • The Beauty Inside (2018) (didn't like the body changing aspect)
  • The Master's Sun (when given other options, they chose to pass on this)
  • Love to Hate You

I get the feeling that they don't like strong fantasy, adolescent (looking) leads, prolonging depressing subjects, sad endings, strong horror, and historicals.

  • Crash Landing into You
  • The Greatest Love
  • Secret Garden
  • Its okay not to be okay
  • Master's Sun
  • Another Oh Haeyoung
  • Beauty Inside
  • My Girl
  • Full House
  • Part Historical, like my lofe from the star:
    • Goblin
    • Queen Inhyun's Man

I am not a Robot

Give that a try ;)

Perfume - There’s slight fantasy because FL goes back to her slim, younger self when she puts on the perfume. It’s hilariously funny, and you have Shin Sungrok as ML :)

 Czakhareina:
  • Crash Landing into You

  • Secret Garden

  • Master's Sun
  • Another Oh Haeyoung

Some great picks! Thankyou ^^

Great, thankyou!!

The Sound of your heart (a comedy series which is really good)

What happens to my family? (has 50 episodes)

I just finished What Happens to My Family, would not recommend it (depressing, and adult children are awful at the start).

Five Children -(54 eps) - family drama about the romance of a widower with two young children and a divorcee with three, his parents and siblings, her ex and his new wife. They work in the same department. He lives with his late wife's well-off family. There is a side couple that shouldn't work but does (the ML's shy elementary school teacher sister and an athlete/male model).

Father Is Strange - also a long family drama. Four adult children live with their parents, a close late 50s couple who run a sandwich store. A not-very-successful but egotistical actor appears one day and claims that he is the man's son from a long-ago relationship.

It might help to know the general age of your parents.

Yikes, thanks for the pointer, I'll avoid this one then!

They're in their late 50s - 60s ^^
