Like most Asian romance drama's promote the ideas of a woman being independent, career-seeking, dream-seeking, and taking romance and men in second.

But like some woman in one of these many dramas said as to why she was so careful picking her man, she said something like 90% of the world's prison population was occupied by men and that's why she was so picky.

Yet, I've never seen a romance drama or any other drama for that matter which teaches/preaches or whatever how a true man/ML should be like. Kinda like, women should just be more like men and men can stay the same, which imo seems more like the prison population is just going to get more equalized rather than the society.

Any drama that promotes an idea of what a perfect man should be like? And where it's not just becoming a simp to the FL where he's already strong/rich/powerful/has great status that allows him to spoil her etc.

Any drama that promotes an idea of what a perfect man should be like?

I feel like Yu Tu in You Are My Glory is meant to represent an ideal to strive for, as approved by the CCP. A young man who is extremely smart, passionate about his chosen subject (which just so happens to line up with the country's strategic objectives), handsome, athletic, generally capable / a quick learner, driven, disciplined, tidy, respectful, etc. He worries about pursuing a career in a lower paying field (one that he is passionate about and that is important to the country's goals) vs in a higher paying field that would ensure that he could fully provide for and look after his parents in their old age. He worries about balancing a demanding career with not neglecting his significant other. He usually models an ideal and is generally very honourable and capable, but he's not completely infallible or 100% confident in everything he does at all times, so sometimes he has to work through doubts and insecurities before getting to a better place. He is not rich or powerful. The FL is (through her own efforts) and when they get together there is mutual respect between them.

I agree with what AH said. I think the ML in The Rational Life is similar to Yu Tu. He is a young man who has a good relationship with his mother, has a creative hobby that he wishes to turn into a career. He admires the FL (who is a woman very much like the type you describe), is willing to work hard for her, to learn from and with her, and is always supportive of her who is successful, older and richer. Sometimes, though, I felt that this drama tried too hard to show just how perfect he is. There is a SML who is rich and powerful... also a good guy, but it got repetitive with scenes to show how obviously better the "simple, poor but hard working ordinary man" is compared to the "rich and thinks all women cares about money most of all" man... I think both these dramas wanted to show what a perfect relationship and a perfect man should be like.

Also, I took a look at your list and I think the father in Go Ahead is the prefect example of a perfect man, even though he's not the drama's male lead.  :)
