2021 Completed List

Dramas I watched in 2021: could vary from dramas, web-dramas, specials, and movies. These dramas will not only be dramas aired in 2021, but also could be dramas from different years that I've watched in 2021 ^_^

This list will also include everything I watch, whether I already completed it or not, I'll still add it to this list so I can have everything I've watched in 2021 on here.

P. S. I am so proud of myself, tbh. I've started this list in  September, and I've watched 30 dramas so far! I've never gotten that far before stopping completely before the new year.  I blame my depression, but still, I'm so happy to be able to put all these dramas on my completed list, especially when a lot of them are ones I've dropped, put on hold, or really wanted to watch but got too distracted. At least for dramas, it's been a good year!

    Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes

i loved this drama so so much. honestly, should i even be surprised? anything ji sung is in, i love. he's just such an amazing actor. at the beginning i didn't see anything good about it, but then his character began to remember little memories about why he fell in love with her and... i just got hooked. AND NEAR THE ENDING LOL. when shes like chasing him, and he's running away, determined he is nothing but misfortune for her. ahhh, so cute. i loved it.

  • What's Wrong with Secretary Kim

    Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes

this.... has had so much hype since it came out and i finally watched it and.... i was bored lol. i didn't really like this. it was too cutesy for me, i need more drama. after they resolved their trauma, i was ready to be done with this series, yet there was like 4 or 5 extra episodes. sighs. it was very painful, i got to say.

  • Missing You

    3. Missing You

    Korean Drama - 2012, 21 episodes

    6.5

so i watched this once upon a time, and loved it so much. it broke my heart, all those crying scenes. i got distracted and put it on hold for a few years, and finally i decided to rewatch and complete it. it was still really good. but man... it got messed up lol. the second ml was crazy af, that's for sure. poor guy. loved the main couple though <3. so weird to see the fl in that role, since she's usually in comedy dramas and not pure tragedy and heart break dramas lol.

  • Boys over Flowers

    4. Boys over Flowers

    Korean Drama - 2009, 25 episodes

    1.0

.......... WHY IS THIS SO POPULAR. horrible, horrible, horibble. i can't even. like, everything about the original - all the comedy was completely ripped out. even the soundtrack wasn't good to listen to. never gonna rewatch this lol. it was draining to watch it... im so glad to never have to do this again.

  • Will It Snow for Christmas?

    5. Will It Snow for Christmas?

    Korean Drama - 2009, 16 episodes

    1.0

so sad.... i loved this once upon a time ago, but put it on hold, and then i rewatched it. but it got worse and worse as i watched it until it just became nonsense crap. bad writing, that's for sure lol and that ending was so unresolved....

  • Squid Game

    6. Squid Game

    Korean Drama - 2021, 9 episodes

    10

so this series has been swarming tiktok for a while, and it looked quite interesting. i felt like as a avid korean drama watcher, it would be insulting for me to not know wtf this drama is about. i find it hilarious that because of netflix everyone is getting obsessed with gong yoo. but also, about time. he's simply amazing in whatever he acts in. HE WAS IN THIS SERIOUS LIKE A FEW MINS N EVERYONE IS OBSESSED LOL. i love it. anyways. about the actual series? i loved it. its funny, cuz i dont think i would've watched it on my own if not for all the hype. but it was so good lol. it definitely needs a second season!

  • Signal

    7. Signal

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    10

i didn't realize this was so popular tbh. i just randomly started to watch it because i loved the plot. it reminded me of the movie frequency so much, and i was obsessed with that movie when i was younger lol. and honestly, this was simply amazing. i was so sad when it was over. lee jae han was such an amazing actor, i effing loved him. he stole the show for me, he was amazing. they seriously need to come out with a season 2, i'd watch it in a heartbeat!

  • Tunnel

    8. Tunnel

    Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes

    10

this was so good! i didn't get interested in the drama until he went to the future, that's when it got good tbh. but when i did, i really loved it. he was so funny trying to understand the new changes in 2017. i also loved so much the long distance relationship with him and his wife. they had a beautiful and heart breaking love. the actress who plays the wife was amazing, i've definitely become a fan and hope to see her in a main role someday. she deserves it! and honestly, the ml was amazing. i loved him in this, he really made me look twice at him from this drama. <3 gonna miss this so much.

  • Goblin

    9. Goblin

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

A rewatch, but i've been missing this drama so much. such a beautiful story <3

  • The Tale of Nokdu

    10. The Tale of Nokdu

    Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes

    3.0

im perplexed with this one. i started watching it and i really liked it, it was rly cute and they had amazing chemistry. but then half way i got bored and i felt like watching it was a chore. which sucks. maybe i dont like period dramas? i feel really bad because the fl used to be this child actress i loved, but i barely like any dramas shes in when shes a main lead. im so sad.

  • My Mister

    11. My Mister

    Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes

    10

so this drama. lol. i thought it was something completely different. i remember seeing a drama on tumblr alot with these passionate kiss scenes, and i could have sworn it was called my mister.... but nope. nope, nope. definitely not this one! lol. this was not a passionate kissing drama at all! it was.... different. i don't think i would've even tried watching it if i didnt mistaken it for something else. but i did, and there i was, stuck after episode 1 of whether or not to continue on. its not like it was bad. it was just.. different. nothing i really have watched before, so i couldn't tell if i liked it enough to watch until episode 16. but comments were 10/10, they said after epi 4, you're hooked - turns out they were right - and a few negative things. but i guess it helped too, because it gave me an idea of what to keep in my head. not a romance drama, stop thinking it, even if they're perfect for each other. just think of it as a human drama, where they're healing. but jesus christ, it was definitely a romance drama. even if they didnt have the normal romance scenes u'd see in a drama, THIS WAS A DRAMA OF LOVE. they were in love, no doubt about it. if there was a second season, i'd never doubt they'd slowly build up their friendship to best friends to lovers. that's the type of story i could see them having. so after this long ass comment, what is my ultimate rating? 10/10. definitely. i wouldn't rewatch it though, but certainly recommend it! for me at least it was a one time drama watch and that's it. i watched their adventure and healing and i loved it, but it would be torture to watch it again esp if all i really want is them to give me more romance than the drama did lol. that's why a second season would be amazing.......  OH. p.s. the voice tapping? her listening to his every move? omg. someone once commented it was one of the most intimate moments they've seen, and they were right lol. i loved it. okay im gonna end here or ill never stop.

  • Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

    12. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

    Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes

    9.0

my goal these days is to tackle the really popular dramas and tbh? so far they're really good. so this one, i waited until it was done airing... cuz i can't wait for that lol. but i really liked it. the beginning until half way when they confess their feelings, that's when it was strongest. idk, it got more boring around episode 13-16 for me. buttt, i still liked it. i wouln't watch it again though. the beginning portion was so good and refreshing, i loved everything about it.

  • Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

    13. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

    Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes

    10

this was so incredibly beautiful. i loved it so much that im having major withdrawal.  it was devasting but i loved it. needs DESPERATELY a season 2 lol so incomplete with that bloody ending. fingers crossed <3. AND THE MUSIC? breathtaking. i really loved it.

  • It's Okay to Not Be Okay

    14. It's Okay to Not Be Okay

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    10

i pretty much had to force my finger to press play for this one. not a fan of the actors andd the story seemed very meh lol. but it was truly really good. so many twists, and the mother's creepy acting was probably what i loved the most, it was incredible. i did love their little family tho, so adorable. the brother's acting was simply amazing too, i could believe every second of it. i will miss this series but wouldnt rewatch... although i did enjoy it, i also wanted to end this series as fast as possible. idk, it was good, but not amazing. the 10/10 is definitely from their amazing acting and the storyline, it would be cruel to not.

  • Kiss Goblin

    15. Kiss Goblin

    Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes

    8.0

this drama seemed to be on everyones watch list, i swear, so i decided to pick it up. plot seemed a little interesting, and it's super short so i said why not. first impression was... i thought the acting was really bad lol, it felt so fake. but then maybe halfway through i started to like it, around the time he started to get more emotions i suppose. but yea when they were living together and falling in love, that's when it got good. i would totally recommend this for someone looking for something easy and cute. also my first mini drama in a long time! lol. go me.

  • Hotel del Luna

    16. Hotel del Luna

    Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes

    5.0

i really didn't want to watch this. but it seemed really popular, and my new favourite kdrama actress iu is in it, so i thought, it must be good. it was... okay. nothing special. i loved her acting as always but idk, the storyline and the characters... i just couldn't connect and love them in the way i wish i couldve. i would never rewatch this again, it felt like a chore just watching it. and i felt like the leads had no chemistry, so that didn't help. tbh i don't think i'm a fan of the male lead, so that probably didn't help, but oh well. i loved the dreams, and the clips of them in the past, but that was mostly it. oh... and the firefly. </3.

  • Mr. Queen

    17. Mr. Queen

    Korean Drama - 2020, 20 episodes

    10

i honestly can't believe how much i loved this. ty for moon lovers showing me how much i'd love historical dramas. i couldn't understand the appeal, but i think it was the ones i had previously watched that made me think that. anyways.. on to the series lol.

mr queen seemed so not my cup of tea. i mean there was gender swap, and it was a comedy. not really my type of dramas. yet this was really good, every episode seemed to catch me and draw me to it. i really loved this. the acting, the story, the romance <3. i definitely discovered some new favourite actors from this series, and even more love for historical dramas!

i gotta say, im with all those others who didn't like the ending. everything was beautiful as always, but... it just didn't seem fair for him to go back to his unhappy present life in the future, where here he had so many friends and.... a love.  idky they did that. what would have been wrong with keeping him in the past, maybe sending her to the future instead? it just really saddens me...

  • Persona

    18. Persona

    Korean Drama - 2019, 4 episodes

    1.0

i watched it because of iu, but jesus was that a mistake.i thought, oh shes in it, no matter what it is, it'll be good. but nope! the stories and just the way they filmed was weird and inappropriate. i did not like this at all. if i could give it a 0, i would have.

  • Crash Landing on You

    19. Crash Landing on You

    Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes

    10

this was such an amazing drama. i watched it on a whim when cleaning, and i couldn't keep my eyes off it. it was so beautiful, funny, heartwarming, heartwrenching, it was just perfect in every way.  i loved the epilogues so much, it was one of my favourite parts of the drama, for sure. and omg, the soldiers were so effing adorable. AND WHEN THEY ALL WENT TO THE SOUTH, help. they were so cute and hilarious. i loved the south episodes so much, but the north episodes were so great too. i loved it all! and the 3rd and fourth main lead.... i never usually like the other main leads but they were so beautiful together, it's heartbreaking of their resolution. im gonna miss this drama so much, i miss it already and i just finished watching it. i can't wait to rewatch this masterpiece again <3.

  • Secretly Greatly

    20. Secretly Greatly

    Korean Movie - 2013

    1.0

i only watched this due to the cameo in cloy. idgi. everyone seemed to love this, but i was incredibly bored, sometimes disgusted, and had to watch it on 2x speed.  people said the comedy was the best part, but i really hated it, a lot of times it was disgusting and just not funny. i only liked scenes when he went in fighting mode, or when he finally got his haircut. and the plot was so boring, like he just went there to waste his life for 2 years before his country abandoned him. felt like a waste of my time too. anyway, i don't recommend this.

  • The Negotiation

    21. The Negotiation

    Korean Movie - 2018

    10

so i watched this movie because i found out they starred in something else together, and omg. i loved this movie lol. it was amazing. so sad the ending, but i rly loved it. they're such amazing actors. i swear, if this was a kdrama and not a movie, they would have fallen in love. she definitely wouldve switched sides. god, i rly wish they turn it into one, one day.  i'd love to watch that.

  • Confidential Assignment

    22. Confidential Assignment

    Korean Movie - 2017

    1.0

watched this for hyun bin, but idk. it wasn't because it was bad, i think just not my genre. so i was really bored lol.

  • Memories of the Alhambra

    23. Memories of the Alhambra

    Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes

    8.0

took me a second watch, as the first time i tried, i couldn't get into it. this time... it was okay. l  think last time i wasn't paying attention as much as i shouldve been, especially when they introduced the rv game, cuz if you dont, nothing makes sense lol so i did get into it, and idk. it was okay. it felt like it took forever to finish, which isn't a good sign i guess lol. but i began to love the plot, and the characters. now im just pissed off at the bloody ending. wtf lol. like i get it, open ended. but....if they did until like 20 eps or 18, that couldve been a segway in her finding him in the game and getting him the hell out. unfortunately, it ended before it got to that. meh. i wouldn't rewatch, but i did enjoy the watch, and would recommend it. it was a good one time. rating this was so hard for me. i thought i was gonna be nice and do a 5, but then... i liked it too much, but not enough, so its an 8 for me.

  • The K2

    24. The K2

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    8.5

i feel like this series was really overrated. idk, but for so long ive thought this would be an amazing drama, and after watching it... i'd say no. it was okay, but not close to amazing. i loved the actig, but the story was a mess. it also took me forever to get into the story, which made me miss important things because i was just so bored. but whe the 2 leads met again it became really good. and i loved the father so much, so its heartbreaking he died. overall, an okay drama, average even. wouldnt rewatch this, idk if i'd even recommend it lol.

  • Sungkyunkwan Scandal

    25. Sungkyunkwan Scandal

    Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes

    5.0

i really didn't like this series. it was really hard to get into, and then when it started to get a bit better, i got distracted with something else. then i came back, and it was hard to get back into this series. sighs. i rly just didn't like this. and the main fl, idk. lately i feel like im not a fan of her acting. so that made it even more difficult to enjoy this. wouldn't rewatch this again. Ever.

  • Sad Love Story

    26. Sad Love Story

    Korean Drama - 2005, 20 episodes

    5.0

i finally finished this drama. i had watched it a few years ago before putting it on hold because i ended up watching something else, and decided to finish it. i gotta say, the first half was so much better than the second half where she realizes it's him. and i knew something bad was gonna happen in the ending, i mean it was called sad love story for a reasons right lol. overall, it was an okay watch. i think back then i wouldve loved it even more, but times a changing. idk if i'd rewatch this again, so sad.

  • Winter Sonata

    27. Winter Sonata

    Korean Drama - 2002, 20 episodes

    5.0

another on hold drama i finally finished. was it worth finishing? No. i mean most of it felt like filler, just one huge stop sign every time things seemed to get resolved. it is an oldie, so ill give it a break. i do love the beginning episodes until around ep 8 or so, but the rest is a hard pass.  wouldn't rewatch it, had to force myself to complete this - my fourth try was a success, go me.

  • Summer Scent

    28. Summer Scent

    Korean Drama - 2003, 20 episodes

    8.0

i really liked this. but it was honestly too long lol. this needed to be 16 eps for it be gd. but the beginning to middle, i srsly loved. they had really amazing chemistry, i loved the music, and the nature aspect - it was so relaxing. i would definitely rec this.

  • Ikemen Desu Ne

    29. Ikemen Desu Ne

    Japanese Drama - 2011, 11 episodes

    2.0

i effing hated this lol. i LOVED youre beautiful, the original kdrama. but this i did not like. i feel like it was a different drama. like it was a rip off of a good book, that someone made on wattpad. i rly hated this.  idk, it was also incredibly boring. all the things i loved from the original weren't in this. if you liked youre beautiful, i wouldnt rec this.

  • Glass Mask

    30. Glass Mask

    Japanese Drama - 1997, 11 episodes

    5.0

i used to love the anime, it was just so good. and idky but the first time i tried watching this live action i couldnt get into it. but this time around its so nice. its more like im getting little reminders of the plot i loved so much in the anime, so its a nice refresher drama.

  • Glass Mask Season 2

    31. Glass Mask Season 2

    Japanese Drama - 1998, 12 episodes

    5.0

this was really good,  a few plays were better than s1, so it was exciting to watch. that scene where she auditions for the princess role, it was so amazing , i loved it. im glad i rewatched this series!

  • Over the Rainbow

    32. Over the Rainbow

    Korean Drama - 2006, 16 episodes

    2.0

i guess this year was definitely the year of completing old dramas! anyway, onto the drama. this was.... okay. not great. it's just, i don't think i liked the plot - the whole show business of dancers and stuff, idk, it bored me. i mean im not even a fan of dancing irl, so it makes sense i guess. but i did love the chemistry between the two main leads. so meh, wasn't for me, but it could be better for others.

  • Heartstrings

    33. Heartstrings

    Korean Drama - 2011, 15 episodes

    2.0

i started watching this at the end of 2021,  and got distracted on holiday break, making me end up finishing it a few days in 2022, but i feel like its a little of a cheat to put it on my new list, so here it is. my thoughts? i hated it. incredibly boring lol. my second time rewatching it since i dropped it for a few years tbh. anyway, its completed, so i dont have to think of it again. a sucky drama end to 2021.
