  • Vincenzo

    1. Vincenzo

    Korean Drama - 2021, 20 episodes

    9.5

I probably do not need to explain this one. "Vincenzo" came like a storm and finished with a bang. Loveable characters, killer soundtrack, fast-paced and tricky plot, astonishing cinematography, slow-burn romance... This drama had it all. Will be rewatching it for years to come.

    2. It's Okay to Not Be Okay

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    9.5

IOTNBO is as good as everyone said. The story is unique and magical, and the fairy tale aspect added so much to it. The main cast was especially good and even the side characters had their own stories that highlighted important issues about mental health and family dynamics. Of course, the true stand-out of this drama was Ko Moon Young's wardrobe :)

  • Shopping King Louie

    3. Shopping King Louie

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    9.5

The Best Romcom that was ever made. This drama is so saccharine, it will give you a toothache, but in return, you will get so many warm moments, an amazing soundtrack that was compiled out of a lot of old English hits, and the OTP of OTPs. Each and every character in SKL is an adorable fool, even “The Bad Guy”, and I LOVE them for it. SKL is a comedic and tropy hit, and I’ll be returning to watch years in the future because the drama highlights the best things in our world - the inherent kindness of people and young love.

  • Healer

    4. Healer

    Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes

    9.5

"Healer" is a drama I would have never decided to watch on my own. The premise is too political and thriller-y for my tastes, and at first glance, the romance seemed to be an afterthought. I was never this happy to be proven wrong.

At its heart, "Healer" is a show about people and their relationships with each other. The characters take their time to grow on you and they are not perfect human beings, but it's easy to root for them as they uncover one secret after another and get revenge for the unjust things that were done to their families. The political corruption line was a bit difficult to follow, but once I got sucked in and presented all the facts, I was completely engrossed in that aspect of the story, too.

"Healer" was also a lot of fun, in a way that only the early 2010s media can be - secret identities, going undercover, family secrets, ridiculous fights and action sequences, a bit of plot armour for the hero, and the very sweet romance that defied all the odds set against it.

The ending really needed a few extra minutes/scenes to show us where each character ended up, but I think it just proves how well "Healer" managed to make me attached to the whole cast.
