Best BL Dramas and Movies

This is the Best Asian BL drama out there for sure. This drama is made for the queer people especially from Asia. This drama  is so pure and actually depicts real struggles queer people face instead of fetishizing  Gay relationships which is sadly the case for most BL's that comes out. This drama tackles many issues faced by the queer people in their day to day life ranging from life changing obstacles to micro aggressions in everyday life. This drama is a low budget project but shot beautifully and the story is crafted with adoration for the art and the queer community. The actors have done a wonderful job. This drama is truly a love letter to the queer community. 

It's by far the best BL I have ever watched. Had a rocky start but it picks up from Ep 3 and becomes better and better with each episode to come. It portrayed a very healthy relationship that I have not yet seen in the BL world. The lead actors represented their characters so beautifully. Just give it a try, you'll love it I'm sure.

When you first get into it the plot will seem ridiculous but It's definitely worth it. Though there is hardly any physical romantic scenes in this series(There is no kiss scenes) with the exception  of the supernatural aspect, I felt that the series portrayed a very realistic gay relationship set in japan which is known to be a conservative country. It illustrated a very healthy relationship which is a big green flag to me. It is definitely worth watching.

I had very little expectations going into this drama but it absolutely blew my mind!! This drama is more about loving yourself and gaining self confidence than the romance itself but the romance part was done lovingly and respectfully. The couple had a very healthy and understanding relationship .The story telling and the cinematography was excellent. The actors did a very good job portraying their characters and there was not any awkwardness between them. Cringy scenes and dialogues are one of my biggest pet peeves but there was not of it here. Though I was sad that it was a very short drama, it was well paced so it didn't seem too rushed. I thoroughly loved this drama and I sincerely think every drama lover should give this a try.

I was seriously surprised on how good it was. It is not your Typical BL or straight Romance. spoiler ahead!!!! It is show portraying a Polyamorous relationship. It mainly revolves around our leads running away from Mafias and Hitmen but This was the 1st show I have ever seen where a poly relationship was portrayed in a +ve light. The plot was well written and paced perfectly. This drama is an underrated gem that everyone should be talking about and I highly recommend it.

This drama is truly one of a kind. I've never seen a BL drama tackling Mid life crisis before. The actors did a wonderful job. The story was well paced and beautifully shot. The story is wonderful and mainly focuses on the growth of the MC and his acceptance and love for himself, but all in all it is pleasant watch and it deserves a lot more hype.

It was a very sweet show. Though the ending is questionable and unrealistic but can't really blame it cause the whole show is based on supernatural aspect. it portrays a very  healthy and a sweet relationship. It has a coming out scene with the lead and his mom which I thought was new and it was  beautifully portrayed by the actors and it was written well. Should definitely give it a try.

It was short and sweet. Portrayed a healthy relationship too. Though the episodes were very small it had enough content each episode it will keep you moving.

This drama had nostalgic feel to it. Good sceneries too. I personally felt like this was more focused on the leads exploring their sexuality and accepting themselves more than the romance itself. It had the right amount of episodes and so it did not drag much. This series has a sequel which I have not watched yet cause I saw some spoilers which made me pull the break on it because the 1st season has a happy ending and I didn't want to ruin it for myself so watch the 2nd season at your own risk. But the 1st season is amazing.

It was cute and funny but the plot is nothing new. It shows a Healthy relationship. But there were some cringey scenes too but it is skippable. It is a pleasant watch.

This movie was heartbreaking to watch. From the beginning you'll definitely know that it is going to be a sad ending. But I felt like it was such a beautiful movie. But beware there will be a lot of homophobic triggers throughout the movie and the relationship between the leads are not healthy but it has so much feelings in the movie you'll be overwhelmed. But don't watch it until you've seen some other BL's in the list because it is heavy. When I finished this movie I felt like it showed the ugly realism that most BL's don't show.

This Drama is currently airing so I have only watched 8 ep so far so I don't know how it is going to be further but so far so good. It has a more vigilante feel to it. It tackles with lot of social and political problems too and it is the main focus of the series.  I felt this series is getting better with each episode to come. The relationship between the leads are not healthy per say but I don't know what to make of it, I just hope it gets better in further episodes. But what captured my heart is that in this drama there is a scene where there is a  protest in which they call out to make same sex marriage legal and the leads dance under the Pride Flag which just made me so happy to watch because this was the first series I have seen where this is addressed . It is a good watch so far.

I have finished it, the ending was subpar and the villains were poorly written but from a BL lover point of view, it did not disappoint and everyone should definitely give it a try.

I thought long and hard before adding this drama to the this list. It has a sweet but played out plot but it was a good watch. Though I did not like the 2nd season much, 1st season was good. It contains some cringey scenes but it is  funny too. 

I did not like the first season much, contrary to the popular opinion I felt like the 2nd season was much better. It showed how frustrating it is to be in a secret relationship which was well written. I felt in the 1st season they had a very toxic relationship and in the 2nd season both of the characters grow up and learn to love and understand each other. It is a good watch.
