Choosing the best of the best from nearly 10 years of K-drama obsession. In my humble opinion of course.

1. Healer
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
Action, love-able male and female leads, romance and an amazing story line all in one.
-
2. Bad Guys
Korean Drama - 2014, 11 episodes
I'm a sucker for a dark cop drama, and this one does it so well!
-
3. Hello Monster
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Psychopath's with a heart? Park Bo Gum stole the show.
-
4. Cruel City
Korean Drama - 2013, 20 episodes
So I may have a thing for crime shows. Cruel City isn't to be taken lightly, it's Noir at its very best.
-
5. Mad Dog
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
A crime drama with a twist. They investigate insurance fraud. Who knew insurance could be so intense? Woo Do Hwan is an obsession.

6. Just Between Lovers
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Intensely emotional. Beautiful. Heart-breaking. Healing. Lovely.

7. It's Okay, That's Love
Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
If I was forced to choose just one drama to recommend, it would be this one. The romance is wonderful, the characters are love-able and among all this it portrays schizophrenia sensitively, as an illness that can be overcome , straying away from the common criminal tropes often associated with schizophrenic characters in media.

8. School 2013
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
I've never understood why this didn't get more love. Perhaps it worked for me because I watched it in my high-school years. Either way, this show is defined by the epic bromance of the now uber famous Lee Jung Suk and Kim Woo Bin.
Side note: After this show Lee Yi Kyung became a personal fav of mine, and I've been loving seeing him take on more starring roles! Fighting Yi Kyung!!!

9. School 2017
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
I don't care what complaints people have. The romance stole the show. It was perfect through and through, landing School 2017 a spot on my all time favs. I have no complaints. Tae-swoon.

10. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
You may have noticed a shift away from the dark crime dramas. So I'm multifaceted.
I've never been as captured with a female lead as I was with Bok Joo. Lee Sung Kyung is my goddess. Nam Joo Hyuk was equally adorable.

11. Fight for My Way
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
This show. It cracked me up and kept me invested all the way through. And its message got through: Fight for yourself, don't let societal expectations keep you down.
At least, pretty sure that was the message ;)

12. Reply 1988
Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes
Reply 1997 almost made it on the list, but alas, it was surpassed by its little sister, Reply 1988. Once again, Park Bo Gum stole the show.
Another side note: Ryu Jun Yeol also stole the show and he is an acting force to be reckoned with. Go watch his films.
