SRS (Supporting Role Syndrome)
Side Characters That Deserve Their Own Drama, ie, minor side characters that were interesting and deserved more screentime
I had to skim through more than 1 year's worth of feed but I found my 1st post https://mydramalist.com/profile/xingmi92/feeds/LY3jkS2, which was about Guitar Guy and Do Hwan ;p

Kim Seul Gi
South Korean
- The Legend of the Blue Sea (Mermaid 'Ep.20')
There could be a 2nd season where they follow her story. and the old cast can have a cameo to show how life is treating them ;p
I loved seeing Shim Chung acting as the sunbae ;p and I was really curious as to why the guy Seul Gi was after didn't pick up his phone ^^; -

Seo Ji Hoon
South Korean
- School 2017 (Yoon Kyung Woo, "guitar guy")
Part of it is the middle part hair, he is rocking it!! and the guitar, lol.
but mostly he's character as seen in ep8 is such a calm observant kid, and he's so supportive!
They also gave him the back story of growing up outside of Korea, which explains why he isn't as study crazed as they are! and I want to see more of him -in my delulu ship- with Sarang ;p -
Kim Soo Hyun
South Korean
- Hotel del Luna (Owner of the Hotel Blue Moon)
this right here is severe SRS!!!! the way he's walking, the way he's standing, and the soft unexpected look! I need to KNOW his story!!!
I have so many questions! is he a new ghost? is he an old wondering ghost? why does he need to stay?!! -
Tak Woo Suk
South Korean
- Mr. Sunshine (The Rickshaw Runner)
He came out in ep23 and 24, he was just a Rickshaw Runner, but his sacrifice and bravery left a huge impression..
-
Kim Hee Jung
South Korean
- Who Are You: School 2015 (Cha Song Joo)
she was the main fl's twin sisters best friend, overall pretty interesting character...
- Touch Your Heart (Kim Hae Young)
- Love for a Thousand More (Yeon Ji)
-
Lee Hyun Jin
South Korean
- SKY Castle (Teacher Jo Jae Joon)
he was such a mysterious character, and the little backstory they showed of him made me want more
-
Mi Ram
South Korean
- Spring Turns to Spring (Cheon Soo Hyun)
she's hilarious, and her fighting with the boms is one of the highlights of the drama xD
-
Lee Jae Joon
South Korean
- Save Me (Dae Shik)
He is Dong Cheol's sunbae, I think he's the lead gangster when they were younger?
anyway, he's story in ep13/14 was really sad.
he's just like Dong Cheol, he comes from a poor family with his single mom working hard to make ends meet. he worked in the same place as DC. he's mom has been taking loans, and now he finds out that she's being assaulted by this crazy cult while she gives them the money she borrowed.
he knows no one will help him so he goes in for revenge on his own, but he finds he's friend there telling trying to stop him... I'm glad that DC told him to the truth and that he was there to stop him, I really thought they'll capture him and torture him in front of everyone including DC.
so, I read that people think he'll have a bigger role in ending the cult, because otherwise it'd be a waste of character, so I hope that he and the rest of the good guys survive. -
Kim Ji Soo
South Korean
- Bad Guys: City of Evil (Han Gang Joo)
he is also in my "favorite characters" list, he didn't get enough screentime, but he was awesome ;)
- Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (Guy who works with Bok Joo)
he didn't even have a name but he was a cutie... he was nice to bokjoo, and teased NJH ;)
- Doctors (Kim Soo Chul)
I guess it's a Jisoo thing, I always end up adding all of his characters to any list ;p SC was a "bad boy" who ended up as a young single (?) father, his story is the best thing to happen in that drama...

Kim Min Jae
South Korean
- Mr. Sunshine (Do Mi [Teenage])
if they ever planned to do a second season I hope they make him the main lead..
-
-
Jung Min Ah
South Korean
- Mr. Sunshine (Yeo Joo "Joon Young's sister")
she was a noble woman who lost her parents to the Japanese and so she had to work as a seamstress to provide for her 2 younger brothers.. Hui Seong took her to his parents house to keep her safe and his mom took her in...
-
-
-
Jung Woong In
South Korean
- Prison Playbook (Lieutenant Paeng)
he did get a great background but I want more..
-
-
Seo Kang Joon
South Korean
- The Suspicious Housekeeper (Choi Soo Hyuk)
he was Kim So Hyun's love interest, and he was in a band... he was a "bad" boy but with a soft heart?
-
Lee Tae Sun
South Korean
- Entertainer (Na Yun Soo)
I kinda can't remember if he had a love line, but he had a daughter? and a noona romance?
-
Doh Kyung Soo
South Korean
- It's Okay, That's Love (Han Kang Woo)
he was not real, but he had great backstory, I wonder what would've happened to him if he was real ;)
-
-
-
Lee Hwa Kyum
South Korean
- Circle (Secretary Shin)
she was calm and cold, the righthand man's righthand (wo)man xD
-
Kim Da Hee
South Korean
- Monstar (Kim Na Na)
she was the best thing about that drama, I recently saw that "The Wind Blows" cover, and I was reminded of how awesome she was.. she was a silent rebel, and I think her dad was a gangster? anyway I wish for more female characters like her.. and I wish they give her the love line with Kang Ha Neul instead of making him a 2nd lead in a lost love triangle..
-
Woo Do Hwan
South Korean
- Master (Hired gun #2)
- Sweet Stranger and Me (Kim Wan Shik)
- The Divine Fury (Ji Shin)
- Save Me (Seok Dong Cheol)
he actually got more screentime than I thought at 1st, but still..
I wrote this when I only saw 2eps: and his part was not that big, yet he left such a big impression. for once it was the 2nd guy who stood up for the girl, while the main guy was kinda scared to ruin his dad's reputation. but still, when he run up to save her, I was won over, and crying because I know he's just a SLS T^T
though, I hope he wont turn into the jealous 2nd lead, because he is already great friends with the main guy, and I'd hate to see them fight T^T -
Moon Ji In
South Korean
- The Beauty Inside (Yoo Woo Mi)
I want a story about her own personal life, and the mysterious boyfriend xD
-
Kim Kyung Nam
South Korean
- Come and Hug Me (Yoon Hyun Moo)
he had a great backstory and character development, but I can't remember his ending.. though he needs a "after" CAHM...
-
Kang Seung Yoon
South Korean
- Prison Playbook (Lee Joo Hyung "Jean Valjean")
he did get a good story/ending, but still...
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Jo Dal Hwan
South Korean
- Trap (Detective Bae Nam Soo)
he was gone too soon.. literally just 1 ep... he had a stutter, so non of his colleagues took him seriously, but Go Dong Kook always encouraged him, though he didn't mean anything behind it, BNS was really touched by that ;)
-
Lee Myung Hoon
South Korean
- Circle (Mr. Ko)
he was the glasses dude.. I think people thought he might be woojin, and the writers could've used him more
-
Oh Young Shil
South Korean
- Spring Turns to Spring (Nun Angelina)
I see where bomi got her fighting "spirit" from xD
-
Kim Tae Ri
South Korean
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Go Kyung Pyo
South Korean
- Naeil's Cantabile (Yoo Il Rak)
he was Naeil's "best friend", and enemy(?) xD
-
-
-
Kim Jae Kyung
South Korean
- The Secret Life of My Secretary (technically it's her male secretary, but I don't know the actor yet ;p )
