Chen
- Name: Chen
- Native name: 첸
- Given name: Kim Jong Dae
- Also Known as: Kim Jongdae, 김종대
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: September 21, 1992
- Age: 32
In early 2011, SM Entertainment (SM엔터테인먼트) formed two separate groups, EXO-K and EXO-M, with plans to have one perform in South Korea and the other in China.
He made his debut in April 2012 as EXO-M's main vocalist with the Chinese version of their first EP, "Mama". For several years, the groups performed separately until the release of their third EP, "Overdose", in 2014, when they began performing as a single group and have continued to do so until now.
In October 2016, he joined Baekhyun and Xiumin in the sub-unit EXO-CBX (엑소-첸백시) and debuted with their first EP, "Hey Mama!".
In April 2019, he made his debut as a solo artist with the EP "April and a Flower".
In late 2019, rumors about him having a child out of wedlock began circulating online. In January 2020, he announced his marriage to his non-celebrity girlfriend, who was already 6 months pregnant at the time.
He enlisted for his mandatory military service on October 26, 2020, and he was discharged on February 24, 2022.
In June 2023, he notified SM Entertainment of his decision not to renew his expiring contract. Then, in January 2024, it was announced that Baekhyun's new agency, INB100 (아이앤비100) would manage the individual activities of Baekhyun, Xiumin, and him as well as their unit activities as EXO-CBX, while SM Entertainment would continue to manage their group activities as EXO.
