Lee Michelle, or sometimes shown in the Western version as Michelle Lee, is a South Korean singer, vocal trainer, professor and musical/theater actress. She graduated from Munsan Sueok High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Music from Dong-Ah University of Media and Arts. She was born in South Korea to an American father and a Korean mother but her father left for the US when she was very little after getting a divorce. She suffered from severe bullying in school due to her mixed heritage but managed to debut in 2011 with the single "Without You", which centered around what she suffered. That same year she auditioned for season 1 of "K-Pop Star Music" and she was praised for her powerful voice, wide range, and mature singing skill. After the show, she was signed by YG Entertainment and was initially scheduled to debut as a member of the group SuPearls along with fellow contestants Lee Jung Mi and Lee Seung Joo, and also Lee Hi (who replaced contestant Park Ji Min, who signed with JYP instead). They trained for 2 years but, in 2013, YG announced the group will not debut as they preferred to focus on Lee Hi's solo career. In 2014, she signed with DIMA Entertainment and her debut single was re-released and in 2015 she released "I Can Sing", her first mini album. In 2016, she participated in "Tribe of Hip Hop 2" and was selected by the SESESE House. She also moved to theater and musicals and was appointed as an adjunct professor at Yeonseong University. In 2020, she participated in "Sing Again" and made it to the 2nd round. She has her own Youtube channel since 2021.
