Eom Yuong Soo is a South Korean comedian and actor. He graduated from Seongbuk High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Hongik University. He made his debut as a theater actor in 1977 while attending college and, the following year, he had a minor a role in a musical. He made his professional debut in 1979 as part of TBC's "Gag Contest". In 1981, he moved to MBC's 1st "Gag Contest" (back then both comedy shows were started as radio shows) and he won the Gold Prize in his first year at MBC. In 1982, he moved to KBS and appeared with legendary comedians in the network's 1st version of "Gag Contest". He appeared in many movies in the 1980s and early 1990s and combined it with appearances in many of the pioneer TV comedy shows like "Humor #1". In 2010, he became the President of Korean Broadcasting Comedians Association, position he still holds.
